Poll: So, how many league wins did you see in person?

Can never fully trust rumours but there has been a lot of smoke about him mainly being motivated by money since he became a free agent.

Let him go to Saudi. The English game will probably limp on without him.

Truly impaired.

Hate to see good pros waste their careers going to the camel ballsack kicking leagues.

Hopefully money isn’t his driving force, as would be such a waste of talent.

He's aged 29, so understandable why he might take the big cheque.

That is a remarkable amount of money for someone of that stature.

I really can't see how a squad full of that sort of player on that sort of money could possibly be justified in terms of any kind of return. Even considering the sportswashing/soft power ideas, which presumably are what this is all about.

Ronaldo is one thing, but Josh Brownhill? Decent player and all that, but come on...

Yeah and no… at 29 he’s got 3/4 good years ahead to play at a top level in Europe.

It won't be he will get a nice big fat signing on fee. And then a very good wage.

On more than that at Burnley.

Apparently Brownhill was on 45k a week at Burnley. He's turned down their offers of a new contract, despite them having PL cash again so it seems he's looking to max out. One to avoid IMO.

I don't think there's much risk of us going for him and that sort of financial commitment. He'll probably cost somewhere in the region of £20m+ over the next 4 years with signing on fee & wages, even if we could afford it you would have to think that's ludicrous, he'll be incredibly hard to move on in the meantime if we wanted to and would have very little resale value in to his 30's.

He also doesn’t really fit into our shape. For a CM he gets forward quite a bit and most of his goals last year came from breaking forward into a 10 position.

I’d imagine he would be able to command 50k + in the premier league so 100k in that context doesn’t seem too huge considering it’s Saudi,

I guess maths isn't your strong point?

If their wage bill is similar to the last time they were in the Championship, he'd have been accounting for nearly 25% of their total wage bill (not just players).

This is making your correct position on Cajuste signing seem like a bit of a stopped clock moment.

What's your definition of a wasted career?

If I could set myself and my family up for life by my early 30s I would say that's been a very good career. Do you do what do you do for the love of it or for the money or a bit of both?

Financially he sets himself up nicely, you can't begrudge him that albeit he is wasting the best years of his career

Didn't one of their teams beat Real Madrid and reach the Semis of the Club World Cup. Not as dead out there as some would suggest.
