Akpom, Clarke, Johnson and Philogene could all play out there even before we signed McAteer. And now we have Egeli too. Ogbene could be eased back into the line up and the cash saved.
I really hope I'm proven wrong with McAteer but he still feels like a signing for signing sake. | |

Ah, McAteer and Sindre makes sense now. I thought we were far too stacked on the right, especially when Clarke was also at his best in pre-season on that side. It’s a separate discussion around the money, but yes it’s looking like we made some expensive mistakes. Someone on here mentioned yesterday, in a few years we’ll either be doing well and fine or financially fked. The money we’re spending needs a PL payback or we’ll need some serious player sales if we stay in the Championship. Trouble is, if we’re still in this league in 2-3 years it means our ‘investments’ will have failed and won’t be worth as much as we hoped. We’ve gambled. | |

Maybe we fear he will never fully recover. This is possibly a way to get his wages paid for a period, and / or hope he plays well enough for Sheff utd to take him. Or, we want to see him play well in this league before bringing him back in jan.

Loan is with a view to him getting regular games as he builds back from injury. Assume it will be until January, wherever he goes.
