Loan just makes no sense to me. Only plus side is he can't play against us, but a loan? Surely he's worth keeping around if that's the alternative. Had we got £6m for him you might say OK, fair enough he's dropped down the pecking order take the money.
He's gone on loan and his contract is up at the end of the season? Just bizarre and a lack of foresight IMO. |

Nope. The UK is about the only country that doesn’t allow loan players to play against parent clubs. Pretty much every other league in Europe (and the World), do. | |

Each to their own opinion, but as a club with parachute payments and £80m+ in player sales, our squad is nowhere near.
We’ve allowed essentially the entire squad that got us success to leave for free / peanuts and replaced them with a group of individuals that are only here for the money. Not to also mention loads of staff leaving behind the scenes.
Going into the season with Baggott, Humphreys & Taylor taking up spots in our 25 is extremely poor planning. 4 right backs, no natural back up for Leif and now no natural 10. What on earth has been our strategy this transfer window? (It’s not like we didn’t know we were relegated since February).

This is a bit sensationalist - we've got probably 15 players who would walk into every team in the division, the best manager in the league and money to spend in January if we need it.

We don't need to clear further space, with Woolfenden and Al-Hamidi going, as long as we don't register Harry Clarke.

Got to say i'm not happy about this.
Chaplin got 13 goals and god knows how many assists last time we were in this league and was everything you want in an Ipswich player, honest, hard working and could finish to boot.
Letting him go is a mistake.
Only thing I can tihnk of is that it's a deal like Morsy and others have got, if we can let you go and you want it, we won't stop you as a thank you?
