....Zoe Webber is part of the EFL Board making a decision about the abandonment outcome.

Just saying.

Might want to deny Blackburn getting points in case they're both in a relegation battle later on down the line.

Can work both ways that... not wanting to seem to be biased against us.

In reality, this is a box ticking exercise - they would have to give Town some really good explanation as to why recent precedent was not being followed.

Wonder what options Town would have for appeal should it not - I was always under the impression you couldn't use lawfare, but Citeh have rather dispelled that theory recently.

If it came to it, I have zero doubt Ashton would involve lawyers. As he should.

I'd have thought the fact that Town have scored twice and Blackburn have conceded (I think) four times after the 90th minute already this season, shows that the game was far from over.

16/5 if the odds for this game were used or a 24% chance as per Betfair exchange.

Speaking of precedent’s can anyone think of a time when a football authority in this country offered a ‘really good explanation’ for a decision?

Is this EFL board also going to be discussing a fund to repay fans and the club travel expenses for sanctioning a match which was quite obviously forecast to be highly likely to be called off?

....about £5,000 available for additional expenses incurred due to a match being abandoned.

If you ask they might give you some of that.

Would it not make sense to make the eventual replayed match free entry for all. I'm sure those with original tickets will have coaches paid for as courtesy too. Surely Blackburn have made their money on the original fixture and thus they would also be making money on the sales once inside the ground. Would be good to have a full house too.

It's called a forecast for a reason, it's far from a certainty and the ground conditions are the critical factor rather than the rain. Blackburn's pitch clearly wasn't up to it. Others in the area managed to see a game out.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

All their costs in getting a match on (staff, policing, power, maintanance etc.) will also be doubled. I'm not sure selling a few pies, pints and hot dogs will cover that.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Think I read Middlesbrough as well which is surely going to screw us over to as they’ve got a decent head start for this league. Even if they end up falling away you’d think they’d want to hurt a potential promotion rival

It’s a joke

norwich City have history with late abandonment on 09:40 - Sep 23 with 101 viewsPinewoodblue

Back in 1970’s I lived, and worked in Norwich. On 20th December 1972 Norwich were at home to Chelsea 2nd leg of League Cup semi- final.

With 10 minutes to go they were winning and heading to Wembley. They opened the gates at the River End in preparation for the final whistle. Fog rolled off the river and a few minutes later , on 84th minute the referee halted play. Referee decided not to abandon straight away and to wait and see if the fog disbursed. The game resumed after 20 minutes but only for 2 minutes before the referee abandoned play. The game was replayed early in the new year and Budgies went on to lose to Spurs at Wembley.

I was working that evening on Thorpe Road where there was no sign of any fog.

Norwich City are acutely aware of the potential for injustice in games that are abandoned late on
