I’m not saying we couldn’t have scored but Palmer made a string of top saves. Add that to the start of the 2nd half when they were all over us & we were frankly dreadful, I don’t think we deserved anything from that at all. |  | | |

I thought we were awful. Looked disjointed at times, & very loose in our play. Our defending was very poor. Ball control poor also. Didn’t look like a team together at all. Yes we had chances but Hirst up front is playing with such low confidence. We gave Middlesbrough so much space. We need to see Nunez, Azom, Akpom, Clarke, to start I think, but really don’t know what the answer is. Mistakes all over the place. The break has clearly not worked well for us, we were improving, & slowly you could see a team developing. Let’s improve it on Tuesday & leave this one behind. [Post edited 17 Oct 22:35]

That last minute summed up most of the game. Passing it around between O’Shea and Furlong with the clock ticking down & no sense of urgency when it needed to go in the box. And then taking ages over a throw in before the final whistle blows. |
I’m sure I’ll get downvotes for this, but that’s on McKenna. 2-0 down, defending a set piece and we’ve got 11 men defending in our own box. Any other team that needs a goal changes it up, puts a centre back up top, or extra striker - not us, stick to our rigid ways of trying to score that perfect goal with no urgency. | | | |

Both wingers were poor
Striker missed a pen
CB feet all over the place for an OG
CM no control and outplayed.
Not a positive night at all.
It was bad performance after a decent amount of rest (for most of them) and some momentum as well.
We will comfortably beat Charlton (I hope) but that doesn’t fix everything, need results in these kind of games if you’re serious about top 2. [Post edited 18 Oct 2:30]

OP is an over reaction statement. KMck didnt ask for an international break to remove key players nor ask for two players to be fully rested last week. Our prep was less than helpful. On the night key players didnt perform
