His confidence is shot at the moment. a confident Hirst would have buried that chance that Jack Clarke put in on Tuesday. Instead he took a touch (a poor one) that he didn't need to.
Better to take him out of the firing line and hopefully take hsi chances in later stages of the game. | |

Before anyone comes in and bemoans that Humphreys won't even be in the squad. I know, but it's who *I* would line up with. I don't think anyone has thrived in that No.10 role yet and Humphreys just had a season where he was probably one of, if not the best 10 in League 1.

The central 10 is the problem position IMO.
Since McKenna has been at the club, only Chaplin has consistantly worked in that position.
Hutchinson often went out of the game there and was generally more effective from the wing. Szmodics is all effort, but doesn't have the skill to unlock defences. Akpom looks uncomfortable with the ball to feet and wants to be running into space.
I've seen Nunez mentioned as a possible 10. What about Azon? His best attributes seem to be his control and turning with the ball. I think that is what we need there - probably the closest skillset to Chaplin. | | | |
