| Classic films you've never seen on 17:08 - Oct 29 by hype313 | Yep, Godfather 3 was a bit of heavy lifting, but I had watched them over 3 nights so I was a bit Mafia'd out by that point. Forgot to add The Goonies to my OP. Think the ship has sailed on that one too. |
Godfather 3 had a lot to live up to but the fairly recent recut version is an improvement For my part I've never seen any Star Wars, Potter, Lord of the Rings or Star Trek film despite ITV filling their weekend schedules with them. For those who have not seen Debbie Does Dallas I won't spoil the ending but it's quite happy. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| Classic films you've never seen on 17:29 - Oct 29 by Churchman | Another one I’ve not seen. Can’t be arsed either. |
You'll notice they put Citizen Kane on over the Christmas period. Dark, cold outside, holiday time, people sat slightly bored. Have the fire on, the wind howling outside, mid-afternoon, first drink of the day and put it on. Those conditions suit it and is how I watched it. Of course its black and white too, so mood needs to be right. At its core its about very wealthy people buying the press, for influence. So its still relevant.

Same, only ever seen bits. it is a long film at 2hrs 10mins and there are better things to do on Christmas Day, and I don't tend to watch Christmas films before or after Christmas Day.

The first two are absolutely brilliant, but they require multiple viewings to be honest (or at least I needed to!), not least because there are a lot of characters/names being thrown about and with Part II there are two plots progressing in parallel so it really isn't casual viewing. They are so damn good though. The third... meh, not essential but it has its moments. Edited to add: the first also contains, in my opinion, the greatest scene in film history, where Michael meets a rival gangster and the chief of police in a restaurant. Simply magnificent. The studio wasn't convinced by Pacino's casting as Michael. That scene was done quite early on and then they thought - yep he'll do.

| Classic films you've never seen on 22:52 - Oct 29 with 261 views | mikeybloo88 | For any fans of The Godfather, and even if you’ve not seen it, I’d totally recommend a show called The Offer which is a drama telling the story about the making of the Godfather and all the hurdles that the producer overcame to get it to the screen. Best thing I’ve watched this year, was on Netflix I think but now available free on ITV X | | | |
