“We were winning everything in the first half, the second balls were dropping to us, we were the team who had the real personality. Great organisation, work ethic off the ball, everything was great and we restricted them.”
Apart from just being factually wrong, wtf does the team with “the real personality” mean? Sounds like Trump.
Anyway, if Coventry are the best of the Championship I’m still confident we‘ll win it. Their game plan was to get throw ins and take about 10 minutes taking them.
As for us, Nuñez was the best player. His long passing is sublime; one he did on the half volley with the outside of his foot in the first half was the best I’ve seen for years.
I liked the Walle-Egeli song, even if I couldn‘t hear who I don‘t care about (or who doesn‘t care about me).
Glad Hirsty scored and did the Chambers fist pump. Leave him alone.

I didnt think Coventry were anything special, it seems they have a couple of injured players and no strength in depth.
Reminds me of Watford in 2007-08, winning lots of games, top of the league at Christmas with a small points gap. A lot of Town fans saying well its going to be Watford and 1 other for the autos. They picked up a few injuries, form went out of the window, they even dropped out of the top 6 and then sneaked back into 6th on the last game of the season.

I don't disagree with him. From the 15 minute mark onwards they were the better team. Moving it around quicker than we were. First to every second ball. Missed an absolute sitter of a header, had a few decent chances which they failed to convert and Walton pulled off two amazing saves. The more pressure we were under, the more misplaced passes we were making.
Our goal was a real game changer. It came at exactly the right time. Our tails wer eup going ionto the break and when we came out we were a confident and revitalised team. Played some wonderful counter attacking football as Coventry needed to get back into the game. We could have scored a couple more than we did. .Our defence managed the second half brilliantly. And for the frst time in a while our subs made a better impact than those of the opposition.
Interesting to see a few agree with Lampard on this. I heard it and thought it wasn't the same match I watched. It had been very even and both sides seemed happy to waste time as if a draw was fine and anything better a real bonus. We had a couple of chances but they worked Walton with a snap shot that forced a top quality save on to the post. It was clear we could open them up, though and between Kipre and Walton we were solid at the back. Their defending was very poor. We could have had several more than we scored. Of course, if it weren't for Walton's saves they would have scored 3 too.

It was cagey but they had a good ten minute spell half way through the first half where we were fortunate not to concede.
I can’t remember any real chances for us in the first 30, Egili took a shot on that was about it, wasn’t it?

Walle Egeli had both of our only two shots on target in the first half.
Yeah I’m struggling to think of the chances he’s on about, to me the ball was not sticking, we had no flow and Cob missed a big chance with the header and Walton soon after made a hell of a save. Once we scored we played well.

I don't have the highlights nor any stats to back it up but I felt we were threatening them whether or not that was leading to shots. We had worked their keeper in the first ten minutes and they forced Walton into a top save. Aside from that I didn't feel either side had wrestled any control at all. They were still slowing the game down, taking an age to take throw-ins, goal kicks and corners. That isn't the tactics of a team controlling the game.

Right, so no chances then.
For the away side they were pretty on top of things, if not always with tempo. Lucky we survived a tricky spell and things changed rather quickly towards the end of the half.

Just watched the extended highlights back and I will give you that they created a couple of good openings that they failed to take. That doesn't change the fact I didn't feel like they were controlling the game at all.
Perhaps my view is skewed by the fact I had gone today with the expectation they would play us off the park.
Also, can we discuss Lampard's hair? It's getting increasingly more like a comb over and it's not a good look for the man. Do the right thing and buzz cut that head!

I always fancied us today for some reason.
In fact my TWTD mystic ball has been pretty good this week as I said on here Blackburn would be a boring draw and we’d beat Cov.
