Don't get me wrong I'm not his biggest fan. But as you say, he has been unlucky on many occasions and it just won't seem to go in.

That ‘pass’ out wide though. Nearly ended up in the fan zone. It’s things like that that people struggle to forgive when not much else is coming off.
It’s not the first time either he smashed a pass so hard beyond the touch that’s needed.

It's a shame there's not a decent reserve league any more.
No slight on him, but I wonder if he's got into his own head about his seeming inability to score. A short run of starts in a good-quality reserve league would probably be a good confidence booster for him. | |

He is relatively quick, but not Burns quick. He cannot beat a man. Ever. He makes bad decisions, or messes up the pass of shot whenever in a key situation.
At present, it is not unreasonable for supporters to take the view that he is well short of what we need. That could change, but its half a season now, and little sign of it. | | | |

Last year it took Jack Clarke a lot of time to get used to the system and contribute effectively.
Kasey is a great team player, works his butt off every minute and when we need him, he will come up with the goods. All it takes is just one to go in. |  | | |

I’m not sure there’s evidence he’s an upgrade on Wes. Not yet. I wish there was.
Burns could be frustrating, however he could finish and had pace. Be interesting to see if he still offers what he used to after his injury. | | | |

Agree, really feeling it for him! Anyone who’s played footie regularly over a period of time will know there are periods where just nothing seems to come off! Confidence thing a guess mainly, trying too hard etc!

He has produced so little for us it is unfunny. This is not Monopoly, or a card game. This is professional football. The excuse of 'bad luck' is a really curious one. So far he has been a gigantic waste of money. The biggest this club has ever seen, actually.
I will support him and all of our players and of course not give him any abuse at the ground or online. But we have a right to express our opinions on here, and so far he's been a really significant disappointment. Awful pass completion stats. Awful shots on target stats. The sooner Wes Burns is back the better. One thing is for sure, we ain't clawing back very much of the money we spent on him. Over a billion pence.
Hopefully we'll see an uptick in his form. But I won't be holding my breath. It was a weird signing at the time, and it just looks weirder now we can see what he has and hasn't produced. I think the Preston chance was a real sliding doors moment for him. Score that, we get a draw and his Ipswich career is probably very different.
The caveat to that is I’ve seen nothing since when he’s been in the final third to suggest that’s a one-off. His finishing and final ball have been very poor.
He’s clearly short of confidence but I won’t fault his effort and he did produce an outstanding cross for Azon, who should have scored.
I didn’t hear any boos from where I was sitting yesterday but if it happened, I can’t see how that helps his situation or the team’s.
I’ve said before the fee is not his fault but it is a factor that cannot be ignored in the conversation. I’ve got two friends who are Leicester season ticket holders and they told me at the time we’ve paid way too much for an average player.
But putting that aside, the thing that baffles me most is why anyone thought he was better than Ogbene.
I get the argument about giving him time and I think that’s valid. But comparing his situation to Philogene and Clarke last season is a little skewed as both of those were struggling in the Prem not the Championship. | | | |
