Off to Toronto FC according to Bluesky accounts I follow.

Seems like the perfect moment for us to take Makama off their hands to allow Sargent another opportunity to regain his form up the road. Now that would be hilarious.

Yes, THIS.

Frankly I'd be delighted with either of them, but I certainly think that Makama suits our style better, has the bigger upside, and may not yet be the subject of such an inflated valuation. But maybe that's just wishful thinking.

It'd be an interesting move, for sure.

A backwards step in terms of league quality, but a good opportunity to bang in the goals and cement a place in the US squad this summer.

Interesting

Clement further said he will not be leaving this window..

I bet he does. Nodge are not in a position to turn that money down. It'll be worth much less in the summer.

That could blow up in their faces if they dig their heels in. While they’re contractually entitled to, it never feels like a good idea to force a player to stay once they’re looking to get out. They’d be better off taking the money and using it to strengthen two of three positions - they desperately need to!

In some ways I like that Norwich have made it clear to Sargent that he is not going anywhere in the Jan window, who do these players think they are ?. Maybe make a cheeky bid to swap Harry Clarke and Ogbene and 5 pounds for him

Fabrizio Romano suggest that Toronto are offering £13.5m (roughly). I'd be willing to spend that for him. Plus maybe he didn't play today to avoid being cup tied for us...

He isn’t worth anywhere near that sort of money.

Massively overrated

It's worth £20 million just to see the reaction on the Pink ' Un and Talk Norwich City.

Think they’d be more upset if we took Makama off their hands! Sounds like Budgy fans are accepting that Sarge doesn’t really want to be there and will be gone. Makama has banged in half a dozen goals recently so is their ‘new bright thing’! In reality they aren’t going to sell either to us now after the stick they got that summer!

Just a thought...

If we were properly interested in Sargent, but Norwich wanted to stick to their guns following the Núñez sale, would it be workable for Town to come to an agreement with a third-party club for them to sign Sargent, and then immediately sell him to us?

If he wants to play for the USA at their home world cup, he'll need to perform well wherever he is.

In this instance, they hold all the cards.

I think the Budgies would want a similar fee to what we got for Delap and he's not worth that amount. Maybe around the 15-17 million. But I don't really rate him that highly.

I've seen Makama play 2/3 times for them, looks like a truly awful footballer but just seems to keep scoring. Literally no footballing ability just a big lump who can run. Stinks of the next player they sell for £25m and then does nothing the rest of his career.

I read $18m but being Torento i assumed Candian dollars being £9.5m and not US being £12.5m

Good point, I read $18m/£13.5m, but if it's CAD then it looks even better value and less than Nunez!

Couldn't agree more.

He's a decent Championship striker, with a questionable injury record, but £13.5m looks daft money.

Well, he’ll find an equally crap brand of football in Toronto as he’s had in Norfolk.

Toronto FC have been so bad for such a long time that the locals here are not interested. The World Cup might improve that a little but the standard of football is terrible.

Norwich have had previous success with a big lump who can't play, but keeps scoring - take a bow, Grant Holt. Tried and tested budgie tactic, that.

Yeah, but to be fair, Grant Holt was never 21 years old. Born with a tache, I reckon. And probably broke the scales...
