Nice to see us linked to someone of his quality. Whats his main position? I thought he was a left winger - but surely our need isn't for another of those, is it? So if there's truth in this rumour, what do you think KM's thinking might be?

He's an out-and-out centre forward – would certainly give us an extra edge up there if he ended up coming.

He's about as much of an old school number 9 as you'll find. I'm a bit ambivalent about this one. He's got lots of quality but he's old, has had injury issues, and while he's a great finisher I worry whether he's got the legs to offer some of the other things we need from a striker. Certainly not against it but not one I'm desperate for us to get done either.

Yeah, kind of agree with you. I am worried this has the potential to be another Ebanks-Blake signing- someone who would have been great for us 2 or 3 years earlier.

We would never have had a chance of signing him 2 or 3 years ago!

Not sure this one floats my boat in all fairness but happy to be proven wrong

Watching him play for the Spammers the other week , can't remember if it was against Forest or Wolves but he looked miles off it , uninterested and proper moody with others

I think he would be a signing that is either absolutely inspired or absolutely awful with very little in between - probably driven by his availability to be on the pitch. You could equally easily see him playing 15 games and scoring 10 big goals or getting injured in his first appearance and us never seeing him again.

have him in the box and let him get on the end of the 1000 passes we make into the box and finish opportunities

talks of him not doing the hirst role... of course, but tbh with teams sitting deep we don't need a hirst running around pressing, we need someone who can score goals, no.1 priority imo.

Lots of people not keen on his signing.

Same happened with Kieffer last season.

Sign him up.

Don't remember us having or considering Kieffer last season?

A lot of fans thought Kieffer would have been useful to keep on after his loan spell.

His goal scoring ratio is up there with almost anyone, he is a finisher for sure. A goal every 185 mins in the Prem is not to be sniffed at.

Fitness is the only issue.

Yep, and we should have signed him. Wouldn’t have done any worse with him coming on/starting here and there, would’ve scored a few I’m sure.

I'd also agree and that was why Moore worked I thought. Gave us a different option to Hirst.

You would like to think we would give him a deal until the end of the season with an extension based on appearances/promotion.

Old and injury prone. I guess it depends on the terms, what the bloke is like, what alternatives are out there but as it stands, it’s a no from me.
