That ‘Kier Starmers a w**ker’ chant from our fans today… 17:03 - Feb 7 with 7145 viewsThe_Romford_Blue

Absolutely pathetic. Plenty of us didn’t join in obviously but you just know the whole ‘don’t bring politics into football’ crowd were the ones singing it.

A great trip. That was the only complaint.

Hotdog 8/10 for those wondering. Shoutout Sitters for sorting the ticket 🤝l

It wouldn’t have been a chant at Pride Park if they hadn’t heard it at the 🎯.

Boro fans were singing it at the Riverside in October.

I don't doubt for a second it's an accurate enough description of Keir. Has it would also be for Nig, Boris, Tommy etc. I just don't need to hear it at a football match. Unless of course Keir comes from Derby, supports Derby or as in anyway praised the existence of Derby, then fill yer boots

My ‘woke leftie bubble’ would’ve been equally as despondent if we’d have chanted anything at any of the previous prime ministers in recent memory. Because.. ya know.. it’s a football game. And they’re not there. And it’s a football game.

well just like Kier Starmer, we'll simply have to believe you on that then

Perhaps it’s indicative of how many outside of your woke leftie bubble are actually thinking? I personally think it’s great that Ipswich fans are voicing their contempt for him on live TV just like people at the darts do too.

Interesting use of "thinking" indeed. People around me doing it were just having a laugh and indulging in a bit of sheep behaviour.

I feel like you’re misunderstanding the point either deliberately or just because you’re being thick?

I don’t think chanting that the prime minister is a w**ker at a football match is a good thing to do. Likewise had we chanted for Sunak, Boris, Trump, Putin, Mao Zadong or Hitler. All of it would’ve been equally as weird.

It’s the middle of a championship football match ffs.

Johnson and Truss in particular imposed far more harm on the UK than Starmer, who has mainly just been a bit crap, and I don't recall any football chants about either of them.

Politics on here is fine, there is even a general forum to cater for it, but chanting about the government at football is mainly just pretty lame tbh.

They sang it at the darts the other night in Newcastle as well.

Just plain weird for an away end to sing it at a championship match. Bizarre stuff

Your mate Nige lies 100x more and promotes widespread hatred and conflict day in day out.
And trying to tax few farmers sitting on £1m plus assets doesn't mean he hates them all.
But you are too far gone in the cult to see that

If they had sung 'Donald Trump is a w@nk3r" instead, would that be acceptable? Whatabout Boris? Or even other figures of hate?

It's not a great look, but people's voices shouldn't be suppressed. Personally, I agree to keep politics and the like out of sport, but it's probably one of the few occasions that people group together these dats, and whether you agree or not there is a lot of anger towards the PM at the moment.

So Donald send in ICE to murder people then slander the murdered as terrorists is in the same bracket as Starmer?
Not to mention election lies and violence, criminality etc etc

It’s a football game.

And for what’s it worth, yes Starmer is having a mare. And he should probably go.

But if you compare him to Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, Nigel Farage, Donald Trump or JD Vance.. he’s a decent man who wants to do good. And where were the songs against them?

Also, not being funny, but I'd suggest that most 'woke lefties' are pretty unhappy with the government overall, just for different reasons!

Reminder that anyone who uses the term 'woke' as a derogatory term is probably a bit of a nob.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that was darts, not football as per my reference?

Darts crowds are a bit, I'll avoid the terms I may be considering, different.

I can't believe you didn't read the links

"Meanwhile, at the Premier League clash between Leeds United and Arsenal on Saturday, the stands were full of fans singing 'Boris Johnson is a c**t' repeatedly in videos shared across social media.

The video, which has been viewed more than 750,000 times on Twitter, shows supporters at the Elland Road stadium in Leeds clapping while they chant the explicit words during Leeds' 4-1 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.

If you click the 'Football' filter instead of 'All' at the top of the forum main page, you won't see anything other than football posts.

Thank you. Being a football fan site it might be nice if it was the other way around and you had to click on something to access politics posts, rather than automatically be presented with these various ramblings that are totally remote to the interest of debating the club I support.
