I cannot now stand and proudly call myself a supporter of the club 23:10 - Mar 24 with 7783 viewsredrickstuhaart

I am embarrassed and ashamed of the club.

I am not going to be part of a club which openly endorses a promoter of hate and bigotry.

Done.

It is sort of hard to believe.

This club has done so much right under the new ownership. The foundation is sensational work. A place that champions and provides a space for Veterans, disabled people, refugees, the LGBTQ community and the elderly among many other initiatives. Just the other week Mark Ashton was on the radio in tears talking about what the foundations means to him and how important it was he looked after children in this town who live in poverty and don't get to eat 3 meals a day.

So how can a club who have done all that, so much good, so much to make us proud of the football club again get this so wrong. I simply cannot understand it. Why would the club do something that would so obviously alienate a large portion of the fanbase and make national headlines.

It is as confusing as it is sad. That is my overwhelming emotion today, I feel sad.

I guess there are a couple of positives from this debacle

With so many people disgusted with the club and therefore going to boycott games I will be able to get a drink at the bar and won’t have to queue to get in the ground.

Happy days

I cannot keep up with who is on the ownership board.

I don't think Ed Schwarz has any known political links. Vincent Viola Im fairly sure was an investor at one point and he was a close ally of Trump I believe. Not sure if he is still at the club though.

Actually you can. Fans are invested in our club longer than any player or manager or chairman. They come and go. We stay for life. It’s our club, always was, always will be.

Can't believe all the fuss about this. What an absolute over the top reaction on here! Anyone would think Putin had rolled into Town. I won't vote for Farage but he's a legitimate politician who could well be next PM, and quite a number of the guys I go to match days with, support him.
Just get a life - there's far more important things going on in the world right now, and where ITFC are concerned, my only worry is whether we'll get promoted this season.

You don’t drive change or influence by walking away, now is the time that supporters should actually be standing up to be counted and let the club know how they feel about what’s been done

I love my club, and will always be an Ipswich supporter and the short sighted actions of some individuals within the club will not stop that.

Now is the time to stand together surely more than hang heads in shame?!?

You’re banging your head against a brick wall trying to talk sense like that on here. They all preach inclusivity and acceptance except when it’s someone they don’t like being included.

Farage is a very divisive political figure who has never held high office and probably never will, and of course an ally of Trump who is deeply unpopular in the UK, and most of the world.

It was very unwise to allow him to perform this publicity stunt at Portman Road.

Exactly this. There are 3 sections of people here. Supports of his, people that do not like him and people that just don't give a to$$ either way.
But those against him can't help but have their say and blow everything out of proportion making it seem on here that is the majority of the opinion when it is not.
All these bed wetting types are the kind that tend to post on the turn of a middlesboro goal for example and can't keep their emotions in check. If we now see less of them that will at least be beneficial to the rest of us.

Fair play. Good to see people stand up for their beliefs and quite right.

I’m not going that far.

Mark Ashton IS NOT our club.., many made the mistake (including the owners and many supporters) of thinking he was!!!

I’ll be here longer than that brummie prick!! MUCH LONGER.

I see this as bringing people together.., I think we can all agree he’s not the messiah some fans made him out to be, and we shouldn’t have built the entire club around him and his ego.

Take the positives. Don’t let a bigot like Ashton drive you out, stand and fight for what’s right!

That’s not a political point either, any PM of any persuasion should be welcome at the club or senior government official. No other individual politician in isolation should be, that’s what true inclusion looks like, everyone or no individual parties it’s not rocket science.., but this was always about Nark looking after Mark and his future career.

Ashton OUT - not now. But in the summer he needs to go!!!

This IS NOT who we are, imagine the players and managers and sponsors that won’t now touch us with a barge pole.

Mark is toxic!! If he stays, the club is finished. It’s that bad. I wouldn’t be shocked if some of the existing group don’t now want to be here!!!

Toxic Ashton was always going to end in a ball of ego fuelled self interest…., not even his worst day when you pay managers with no experience more than Barcelona’s manager and spend £100 million on wide right players to keep the bench warm or go out on loan.

Sake.
