goes to sh!t when we have a break from the footy. We're all Town fans so why not put a stop to the vitriol. People have opposing views, that's OK and normal. The Ashton situation will sort itself out one way or another, probably at the behest of the owners

I'm with you pal. It saddens me that a small error has turned into some sort of earth shattering mistake.
People need to get real. We are not being bombed and having to flee our homes. We are not persecuted for our religious beliefs,
Yes many things are not o.k. in the Britain of today.
As someone who was born just after WW2 where things were tough. Much tougher than people think things are today.
Whilst Farage isn't seen by some as being a person that should be linked to ITFC in any form what has happened has happened.
An error of judgement most likely. A sin of the worst kind definitely not.
Those that want MA kicked out should look at where we are and what we now have as a club. Hugely due to Gamechanger and MA.

Had he owned his mistake and apologised for it I suspect he'd be sitting pretty.

He didn't. The club lied to the press/fans and thus destroyed his own reputation by showing himself to be dishonest and lacking any respect for the fans.

This is not on the fans. It is on Ashton.

This Farage debacle. by TheMoralMajority 29 Mar 12:57
Yes, it's the fans. Not the actions of the club leadership, I'm glad you have cleared that up.

"MA has apologised, whether you believe it is sincere or not is of no consequence."

I would have to disagree with this. Empty apologies may be enough for you, but they are not enough for me and many others.

I will ask you what I have asked many other people now and have yet to receive an answer to (not an answer that I am happy with, but an answer at all). What is the stated action that he is demonstrably apologising for?

"We don't need to destroy the club from within as there are many outside ready to do that. "

I would argue that it is not the fanbase that are destroying the club from within. Whichever side of this argument you land on, this divide has been caused by a few individuals at the top of our club, not by the fans.

"I would beg supporters not to protest at games. By all means write to MA and make your feelings known. But pull together for our team. "

I 100% agree with this, Any protest, if there were to even be one, should be handled in such a way that it should not be detrimental to the team. KM and the team are completely blameless in this entire unsavoury affair.

“small error” …

Whaaat? You think our club being mugged off & exploited by a bigoted grifter for a publicity stunt that’s angered players, staff, fans and sponsors - at a critical time of season - and which could cost us millions and possibly even put players off joining us in future - is a *small* error?

Not to mention our CEO and Chairman neglecting his duty of care to put the Club that’s paying him ahead of his own private interests, lacking the brains to ensure basic security conditions were signed before the visit (use/doctoring of any photos etc), the foresight to envisage how a politician well known for his disingenuous stunts might distort the visit for his own purposes. And then that CEO/Chairman not having the basic competence to put any level of damage limitation in place. Consequently all compounded by not having the balls to hold his hand up and apologise properly, instead lying to all concerned. And that’s then picked up and played out in national, local, football and social media.

And btw I too was born not long after the end of WW2 - that makes absolutely no difference - in fact I’d say life in many different ways is much harder now. Yes we’re lucky to be living in the relatively safe first world, but we’re still affected by global events & struggles to survive the cost of living crisis etc. Football is our escape and for many of us ITFC is our church - I think it’s reasonable for us to be passionate about it being sullied by obnoxious and unscrupulous individuals.
