Assuming we do go up what are folks thoughts on going back in for Hayden Hackney in summer? I know he turned us down hoping for a Prem move last summer. I know we also need to learn from lessons last time of buying top Championship players but just feel that this lad is extra special. Hackney is a different type of player to Matusiwa, far more progressive on the ball. We were in for Hackney after we'd already signed Azor as well, Cajuste and Nunez were the players who came in when we couldn't get Hackney over the line. |  |

Hackney is very different to Matusiwa - and would compliment each other. Hackney is good enough for the PL, and would fit into our way of playing well. I don't hold it against Hackney - only wanted to leave his boyhood club for a shot at the PL

He was just about to complete the deal with us but two premier league clubs came in at the last minute, Wolves and Fulham if I recall correctly, he wanted premier league football but just ran out of time to get a deal done with one of them. |  |

This would be my concern. When we were promoted in '24 the Euros majorly delayed the transfer dealings of most clubs. With the World Cup in the summer the same will most likely occur again. The sooner we can get business done the better. Undoubtedly Mckenna & co will be fully prepared though. [Post edited 12 Apr 14:24]
