Isn't it just? Everyone's entitled to an opinion, I have no problem with that, it's just the need to stuff it down others throats at every given opportunity I don't understand. Must be my age!

But, hey, here you are expressing your opinion.

Just proves how much he screwed up by polarising the fanbase.

Yeah the scenes in the stands have looked terrible, especially at Norwich and all the footage from Saturday. Or is it about 20 people banging on about it on a message board?

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Any thoughts on the 35% rise per game ST holders are paying next year Benters, you being a man of the people and all that.

I was celebrating in the stands at Norwich with another poster here wanting Ashton gone so really unsure what your point is.

It's gone up to 20 now has it?

I am glad you don't care about it and enjoy your experiences at PR and at away games.

EDIT: And, isn't it ironic that even as I post there are 21 downvotes on this post. But, no, only 20-odd people care.

2nd EDIT: Up to 24 now. So nearly 50 people who care strongly one way or another. And still vocal opponents of Ashton who haven't downvoted this as well.

I believe it was pointed out, at some length at the time, that it was never going to end there.

And, for this lack of foresight, there simply has to be consequence.

On top of everything else, that MA was not astute enough to put into place prior to NF's visit, restrictions and limitations on permissions for areas of visit, photos/videos/other material & their further use. shows him up as either incompetent at CEO level, or prepared to over-ride his competence because of his political allegiance & bias.

Either way, not a good look.

This is my gripe.

Its not the visit. As long as he did the same with other parties

But it was the fact we gave permission for them to use our club in their socials. In my view that is endorsement of the party

And then the cover up topped it off.

Had he just had lunch. And he and club simply said yes we did and will be doing with all parties.. no issue.

Anyone who actually believes this incompetence line is being very naĆÆve in my view.

Ashton knew exactly what he was doing. Farage didn't just turn up and take advantage of him.

Farage was invited in. He was gifted promotional shirts with a political message on them. His media team turned up with him and were given free access to all areas. None of this was an accident. It is also why Ashton never apologised for any of it. He couldn't really say he was sorry for doing any of it because he isn't sorry at all.

EDIT: Title corrected again.

Although you say it is the same dozen every time, there are 40 posters who have felt strongly enough to either upvote or downvote the OP.

I am sure there are plenty who have strong feelings on the issue and want Ashton gone who have not done so as well.

Much as you and a few others want to shut the issue down and tell everyone to move on from it, that will only happen once Ashton has gone. I do hope it happens soon.

Ashton out!

"I am sure there are plenty who have strong feelings on the issue and want Ashton gone who have not done so as well".

As I am sure there are plenty of people who don't agree with that and want Ashton to stay. We all want to believe we are in the majority, and you may be or you may not be, neither you or I know.

I'd just like to get back to a time when we could accept views on a variety of things might be different (usually player or manager performance) but our shared view was seeing Ipswich in the big time and doing well. The level of emotion on here seems way more than necessary.

I know you have it in you to be better than that. Imagine if it was an elderly relative of yours like a gran in her 80s and then a senior exec of any organisation popped up on national TV calling her a ā€˜fkn a-hole’ and laughing about it. Do you honestly think you’d be fine with that?

Again, you're removing the actual context and inventing your own, exaggerated one, to make it look worse. Simply because you don't like Ashton.

He wasn't on national TV, he was on the balcony of a pub and someone filmed it on their phone.
He wasn't "calling her a ā€˜fkn a-hole’" he was singing a naughty football song.

In the context of a football song (either on the terraces or in a bar during drunken promotion celebrations) it's a bit of pantomime aimed at a rival team. It's not literally abusing someone. And it's certainly not going up to an 84 year old woman, or going on national TV, and abusing her.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

He is going nowhere. He is doing and has done way too much good at the club

The whole investigation thing is a joke. I dont believe he actually sang it, stopped short, but even if he didn't there are way too many things the police need to worry about that that. Are they going to investigate all of us who sing it on the terraces?

Fans aren't subject to FA rules but clubs etc are.

This from the Star.

"The probe is believed to centre on whether Mr Ashton breached the FA's rule E3.1, which states: "A participant shall at all times act in the best interests of the game and shall not act in any manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute or use any one, or a combination of, violent conduct, serious foul play, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour."

Punishments are understood to be suspensions, fines and compulsory FA education courses.

When two or more members of the same club are found to have breached the same rule within 12 months, the club itself can face sanctions, including points deductions."

What is it about the context of your football club enabling and supporting the promotion of a political party that fails to annoy you and for you to demand accountability?

I was referring to the Delia outrage, however the context mentioned in your reply is

Im not a delicate flower and think the whole thing is no big deal, who Ashton wants to enjoy a glass of white with doesn't interest me.

I dont particularly like Farage, however I also dont believe he's the reincarnation of Hitler like some of you dafties think.

Does that clear it up for you ? Perhaps stick another poll up ?

It’s you that’s failing to see the context of the wider negative impact of Ashtongate on ITFC.

Those of us wanting him out see it only too clearly - that’s why we want him gone.
