Oh well. The amount of moaning about us was unreal. Them and Coventry really didn’t like us and kept moaning about us paying the ELF and refs, it got repetitive and boring. Couldn’t quite work out why Cov had to moan so much about us unles they just too a double over them really badly.

They will have their key players sold and struggle next season with the bigger clubs coming down - this was their year and they completely messed it up. Just need to hope Hull win and keep Soton down also as they really were somewhat cheaty today, and it would be just quite funny.

Now that they have been knocked out, I can't see them being reinstated, so any legal success they have will 'only' result in financial compensation at best. Hull are likely to be the real beneficiaries now if the EFL go in 2-footed on Southampton, even though Middlesbrough were the ones spied on.
If someone can substantiate the allegations that Southampton have been spying on opposing teams long before the playoffs, then presumably Wrexham will get themselves involved in proceedings, as arguably they would have been the club greatest affected by the spying, whereby a points deduction could be applied, although they would need a deduction of 10 points to finish above Southampton in a revised table, which seems very unlikely.
If they can only prove it happened pre the Boro playoff game, I can't see a retrospective points deduction being applied, however, if they don't go up, they could well start next season with an asterisk beside their name.

Boro were essentially a one man team, in Hackney. He'll leave now, but not yo us.
Millwall can cou t themselves unlucky i feel, whilst Saints got there finally. The real importers are Hull City who are 90 mins away from the PL but where 10 points behind 3rd placed Millwall, having snuck over the line on the last day.

I feel this years Championship is a very poor one, with the league's being
" champions" , being Coventry City. All promoted clubs have been largely uninspiring in their overall form and none will put a dent in their PL i fear. Its going to be interesting to see how each of the 3 promoted clubs fair in their efforts to stay up next season. I hope we can scheme ut, but its a big ask.

Boro looked great for 25 minutes last night, then were actually really poor after that. Looked a team massively lacking in quality at times, especially in the final third as they fluffed a number of decent counter attacking opportunities.

Their style and system is laudable. It's arguably the easiest on the eye in the division. But their squad has clearly been pushed to breaking point since March onwards. That's where the parachute teams/squads come into their own, sadly.

Coventry supporters seem to have taken a dislike to us. I presume over parachute payments and that we trampled on them twice. Who cares, never mind eh. They should just be happy they have a team that deservedly won the division by a mile.

Middlesbrough? It doesn’t matter if they were in the top two for 1000 days in the last year. They weren’t in the top two, three or four at the end of the final game. It’s all that matters. They deserved zippo from the season and that’s what they got.

Nothing club from what I gather is a dump of a place propped up by Steve Gibson, an excellent owner, for years. Oh well, perhaps he’ll splurge a few pennies on a fence around the training ground from the Hackney money.

They've looked quite streaky within games whenever I've seen them, perhaps some of that is the division but I thought they looked fairly flawed in their weaker parts against us.

And as much as our finishing has been painful at times, the chances Boro missed in the first half on Saturday were ridiculous. Teams don't get promoted if they are that bad in key matches. The run of home matches against bottom end clubs in the Spring was pathetic. One game might be unlucky, not that many.

Last night they had run out of steam by 60 minutes, couldn't keep the ball after that and were just holding on. Not sure Southampton really created much but by far the better side, even if their good run may have been flattered by playing a lot of poorer clubs.

If you are in a horse race and cause interference to another horse you are relegated to behind the one you cause interference to. If that were the case Saints would be behind Boro and therefore it would depend on whether Saints or Hull won the final. If Saints win then Boro would be installed as the third promoted side. If Saints lost then Boro would effectively become runners up. The only financial outcome would be that Boro got the money that Saints would have received from the final and Saints could be fined or have some sort of restriction on their fair play rules.

The game last night was reminiscent of Wardley's fight against Dubois.

That game last night has got to be on the worst “ football” games I’ve ever seen,
A couple of passes play stopped by niggling fouls or diving. Players from both sides doing an “angel of the north impression”
Resultant free kick humpes up the middle, rinse and repeat.
Every time I flicked back to see what was happening I thought I was watching a playback, only difference clockwise had moved on.
We might moan at times but at least we, at worst times, get to watch some actual football.

Our secret weapon, although not so secret, was having players like Clarke, Azon or Hirst, McAteer,Egel or Burns to come on with 20 minutes to go.
Being able to have players fill in for the likes of Davis and have Kipre or Greaves for the centre back spot.
Some teams have maybe one or two that can change games. We had four or five.
That's the simple reason why a team like Boro couldn't cope when Hackney got injured. Obviously we may have struggled had Matusiwa had been out for so long, but one reason why KM brought in Neil.
So if we have no interest in making Neil's appointment permanent we will need to consider getting another player in.
