I really hope we go with an Iraola type appointment 22:00 - Jun 10 with 2582 viewsElderGrizzly

None of this Gary O’Neil or Rosenior talk.

We have one of the most attractive jobs in European football, with money to back a manager and ownership with patience.

I hope you're right about patience, I really do.

This season with a new manager is going to be very different to a 'bonus' PL season and McKenna with unbelievable amounts of credit in the bank.

If we're struggling in November/December, I can easily see the owners being tempted to pull the trigger.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

I’d be careful about the assumption of patience. KM earned that patience with his achievements in the first 30 months, the next manager coming in doesn’t have that luxury, the expectation will be to avoid relegation at the minimum.

We need an astute technical PL quality manager not one of the revolving door 'here today gone tomorrow' names

Almost better to be the manager after the manager after McKenna!

We probably need someone who can attract the standard of players to the club we'll need. Not sure a Dyche or O'Neill appointment is going to cut it.

A hard decision, a young top European coach who has never managed in the Prem, or a Dyche who had his Everton side absolutely school us when we were in the Prem...it's a tough decision, wish we could throw everything at Thomas Frank, he'd be the obvious one..

The trend in the game now is if a manager is doing poorly two or three months in they will get the boot.

Same I fear it will be one of the names being banded around and will be very underwhelming.

Brighton haven’t done too badly with the young approach, with no PL experience.

And we do watch Brighton very closely

Agree to a point, but they will know switching around too quickly will make us unattractive too

if the peak of our ambition is Gary o'Neil or Liam Rosenior then what is the point.

Amen. If it's O'Neil, we might as well pack up and get ready for the Championship.

And Jose! Would have been nice for the Robson Mourinho McKenna link! Obviously the other ones linking back to Robson are Pep and Luis Enrique who might both be looking for a new challenge.

Given that the rest of the staff will stay (I assume) how likely is it that Pert might be in the frame? Worked for Brentford.

I think Pert is a true number 2. Dont think he will have any interest in it.

Having just come back from Vigo, it’s a hell of a lot nicer than Ipswich, we’ll need to pay handsomely to get him to Suffolk lol

I just have a bad gut feeling that it will be O'Neil or Rosenior. It would be a stupid decision to get either of them considering their managerial form in the prem.

I'm not expecting a world class manager to take over McKenna's reins but a Thomas Frank or Solskjaer would be ideal.
