Are you John Gregory? Sounds like you're parroting the 'how can a millionaire get depression' line from 30 years ago.
It's not rotten to the core. Even if he wants to take a year and join a new club with no compo after that, then good luck to him. He's not screwing us over for a few million quid, just using it all to his advantage, taking a very well earned break with his family and then coming back. Rotten to the core? Wash your mouth out, the bloke has more than earnt the option to do what he's doing and leave with his head held high with our backing. Would leaving to another team now and getting us a few million really make any difference to our feelings or financial situation?

I would suggest if he is 'screwing us over to join a new club' (dont think he is for one second) he may end up sorely mistaken - football a very insular world and any shenanigans like this would badly mess up his future employment chances.

You see, if all you think about, if all you judge and measure everything on, is money - if you allow your addiction to money (and the pursuit of it and the fight to hang on to it) to obscure the real and important things in life like family, health, time to relax and take in life, you'll never have much of the true currency of life, which is happiness.
You're last line absolutely appals me.
Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!
I’d be stunned if he’s not back working by Christmas.
His decision though and he’s earnt the right.
In answer to your question though, with his salary and no doubt bonuses over the past two seasons, I doubt he’d have to work again if he didn’t want to!

Take away the money element as that is irrelevant.
In your job, how many weekends are you away from your family, how many weeknights are you away from your family and on a ‘normal’ day how long are you in the office for? Oh, and whilst at work how many times are 30k pair of eyes analysing your every decision and when away from your own office, how much abuse do you regularly take? Oh, and how many times do you face the local press yet alone the Nationals?

Wow, is that £60k before KY jelly and ‘toys’ costs or are they tax deductible? And if it’s rotten to the core, my advice is that you probably need to see the doctor.
