If we've known McKenna was leaving since early last week, I'm sure we would have already put the feelers out before he made his statement. Same for Fulham.
He won't be coming here unfortunately.
The list of potential managers really is depressing. Hopefully Ashton is casting the net wide. Appointing Rosenior or O'Neill or Rob Edwards is going to be very underwhelming. [Post edited 11 Jun 7:58]

The statement that read: "I have decided not to rush into the next role. For me, this summer is not the right time to go back into management."
As much as I'd like him here, if he had a pre-agreement for us but was wanting for McKenna, those are strange words to write. [Post edited 11 Jun 8:00]

Is there an issue with attracting a top foreign manager that our team is largely composed of British/Championship players?
Don't such managers usually go into teams with a full complement of Premier League-level/foreign players?
Another issue for a new manager generally is that he won't have much of a clue as to the strengths and weaknesses of our current players.

I think both fit the club very well, but you can't help think that OGS might just not have the fire / backbone / personality to turn us into an established Premier League club. I mean, this is a massive task for anyone to do, and we have no idea if our recruitment is any better yet. This appointment is a massive decision to get right, it needs to be a calculated decision as much as is possible. All we need to do is finish one place above relegation next season, that is the goal for next year. | |

Thomas Frank seems a bit off limits but i can see the interest. I will remain open minded, mostly because I dont know how anyone will follow KMcK, its all set up to go, but importantly there will need to be a short period of adjustment no matter who arrives they will be trying to bring sucess. MA mostly gets manager decisions right whether the fans wanted the incoming manager or not. Big big weeks ahead. | |

I like Rosenior seems like a nice chap but as you say he fully lost his mind at Chelsea, was really hard to watch at times.
He wouldn't even be on my list. Average at Hull, Decent at Strasbourg then atrocious at Chelsea. No thank you. |  |

I think that is harsh. In his first season he took a recently promoted team who were battling relegation to 15th, then just three points from the play offs in his second. He was one of the four nominees for Championship manager of the season.
When he was sacked they were seventh. The following season they survived relegation to league one on the last day of the season. [Post edited 11 Jun 9:12]

And the Leicester, Leeds, Ipswich, Southampton, West Brom and Norwich teams who made up the top six all had far more depth than just a few stand out names in the starting eleven.
