pretty much all of them have come to the club to play for a young, progressive man manager, so continuity rather than going for a dinosaur like dyche or allardyce will help. | |

The players will be gutted, but judging by their responses last night, they've known for a while and have had time to get used to the idea. Players play for clubs, not managers, they will be nervous about who comes in but professional enough to know things change in football.
As someone else said, its unbelievable we've had him as long as we have.

There are so many moving parts right now it is very difficult to know where to start.
A new manager would need a new team, as would have KM so that remains a constant.

I wouldn't worry about them. A lot of players were going to change anyway (we hope and need).
I suspect half the team who start the first game aren't even at the club yet. Until we know who the next manager is, no-one know how anyone is going to react.
Re Burns, I love him as a player and think he's still our best right option at the moment, but if he leaves, he leaves.

Before McKenna left I only expected O’Shea to start the opening match of next season… I’m not even sure of that now.
We were due a large turnover of players with the coming season and if anything that’s solidified my thoughts as there will be no loyalty or relationship to get in the way of the new boss. |  |

Probably the players were informed prior to holidays and World cup duty. Some of our players have seen manager exits before, but this feels different. So hopefully Dara will have his input about how the players feel and steer Ashton away from the wrong managers. | |

Sadly (but out of necessity) very few players from last season would be guaranteed a start in the prem, so we were already going to be in a position of huge transition.
At least a new manager will have a decent starting platform and a large fund to shape a new squad. Who knows, he may have a nice bank of ex players available which he can tap into.
Just hoping we become stronger and quicker on the break.
I've loved the atmosphere of the past few seasons but we always had to do things the hard way. We just about managed to get through in games we needed to win. That's a great trait but I would love us to be a dominant force again.
Trouble is we are now in the top flight and thats going to be a bloody difficult thing to do. |  | | |

It's been stated before he just does not like public attention and is an introvert, I believe. So i think you will be reading too much into it.
I'm more interested in those players who probably would've moved on, who might now stay. You've got Akpom, Szmods, Ogbene etc. Some of those might get second chances. |  |
