| What about our players? 09:12 - Jun 11 with 2407 views | Broadbent23 | No one yet has mentioned the effect on our current players. Firstly will Wes Burns sign an extension. How will the remnants of the old guard feel. Will the new appointment change the retention list. How will the players react to the new manager. A lot of questions. Lets hear your views. | |

| What about our players? on 09:16 - Jun 11 with 2132 views | positivity | seems like wes was going whatever happened, the others will depend on who we appoint. pretty much all of them have come to the club to play for a young, progressive man manager, so continuity rather than going for a dinosaur like dyche or allardyce will help. | |

| What about our players? on 09:20 - Jun 11 with 2100 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Firstly, you don't need to end a post with "Lets hear your views". You could literally post on here about sh!t on a stick, and you'd get a 10 pager. The players will be gutted, but judging by their responses last night, they've known for a while and have had time to get used to the idea. Players play for clubs, not managers, they will be nervous about who comes in but professional enough to know things change in football. As someone else said, its unbelievable we've had him as long as we have. It won't change the retained list, that will have been submitted weeks ago. | |

| What about our players? on 09:22 - Jun 11 with 2060 views | WolfieAtTheBack | There are so many moving parts right now it is very difficult to know where to start. A new manager would need a new team, as would have KM so that remains a constant. We have 10 weeks to make this happen in before the season starts which is bonkers. | | | |
| What about our players? on 09:25 - Jun 11 with 2018 views | Vaughan8 | I wouldn't worry about them. A lot of players were going to change anyway (we hope and need). I suspect half the team who start the first game aren't even at the club yet. Until we know who the next manager is, no-one know how anyone is going to react. Re Burns, I love him as a player and think he's still our best right option at the moment, but if he leaves, he leaves. He might not want to stay, the new manager might not want him. | | | |

Regarding sh!t on a stick, I'm against it and, yes, I do blame Ashton for it...

Yes, I believe that's the plan. One of the signings to reveal he's joining when celebrating a goal for his country at the World Cup by taking off his shirt to reveal the new Town home shirt underneath.

Unfortunately can’t see Wes staying now. Another sad day incoming.

| What about our players? on 09:48 - Jun 11 with 1755 views | Perublue | Before McKenna left I only expected O’Shea to start the opening match of next season… I’m not even sure of that now. We were due a large turnover of players with the coming season and if anything that’s solidified my thoughts as there will be no loyalty or relationship to get in the way of the new boss. | |

| What about our players? on 10:12 - Jun 11 with 1514 views | wkj | Im sure people will miss KM, but I don't think it will have a lasting effect on the players. Now, had KM left the first time we got promoted to the PL it would have been a different story. | |

| What about our players? on 10:44 - Jun 11 with 1366 views | Broadbent23 | What will happen to our young Egeli. Persuaded by KMc to join, now his mentor has left. Will Callum Humphreys get a chance to shine. Probably the players were informed prior to holidays and World cup duty. Some of our players have seen manager exits before, but this feels different. So hopefully Dara will have his input about how the players feel and steer Ashton away from the wrong managers. | |

Phil, what is your view on Jaden? I just posted this. “ Jaden worries me. He never looks happy. Was nowhere to be seen in the dressing room celebrations. Bailed out on the end of season dinner. KM may have been the reason he is at the club.” Do you think his agent will use a McKenna’s departure to angle for a move?

DOS and Azor the only players you can say with any confidence might be options. Davis too, but he was awful last time around, so there are question marks there.

Is Kieran’s departure having been the plan behind closed doors, the reason why publication of the retained list has taken so long?

| What about our players? on 10:57 - Jun 11 with 1219 views | britbiker | Sadly (but out of necessity) very few players from last season would be guaranteed a start in the prem, so we were already going to be in a position of huge transition. At least a new manager will have a decent starting platform and a large fund to shape a new squad. Who knows, he may have a nice bank of ex players available which he can tap into. Just hoping we become stronger and quicker on the break. I've loved the atmosphere of the past few seasons but we always had to do things the hard way. We just about managed to get through in games we needed to win. That's a great trait but I would love us to be a dominant force again. Trouble is we are now in the top flight and thats going to be a bloody difficult thing to do. | | | |

I don't really understand why people focus on Philogene's demeanour so hard. As I understand it that's very much his personality, hence the bus driver singing 'Cheer up Philogene' in the dressing room following promotion. Not everyone is chipper all the time.

Given Wes's socials, looks to me like he's staying in LA long term.

It's been stated before he just does not like public attention and is an introvert, I believe. So i think you will be reading too much into it. I'm more interested in those players who probably would've moved on, who might now stay. You've got Akpom, Szmods, Ogbene etc. Some of those might get second chances.
