The more I see and hear from Polanski the more I wince. Am a massive fan of Caroline Lucas - I guess Polanski appeals to the younguns but he does seem very poor in comparison.

However, it’s disingenuous to say he posted it, and to also crop the picture to make it look like this is the only image he liked. It was a series of 20 pictures, a lot of which featured himself, and there’s the possibility that he didn’t look at every image in detail. If he did see the image and still like the post then that’s both ridiculous and horrendous, if he didn’t then it’s massively naive that he’s still liking things without properly assessing them.
What is ridiculous is that a green “supporter” would wear something like that, and that someone would think it’s a good idea to take a picture of it and then post it alongside pictures of the green leader. It seems like they’re constantly undermining themselves with stupidity / naivety at the moment

Correct. To frame it as malice rather than a mistake is disingenuous.
I'm not sure when it became acceptable to wear such provocations, but given it's barely removed from a direct threat to kill Farage posting yourself in it on social media seems like a very stupid thing to do.

unfortunately with the right-wing press in the uk, polanski (and burnham, davey etc) have to be pretty much perfect in their pr, whilst farage and badenoch can get away with (not quite literal!) murder.
polanski needs to get a better and bigger team around him if he's going to avoid the traps; it's not possible to be a left-wing version of farage with all the establishment bias towards nigel and co.

Sometimes I giggle about the frothing lunatic who’s put me on ignore and now has to constantly log out to see what I’ve said. Beneath that counterfeit persona lurks the same pitifully desperate egomaniac.
The t shirt is offensive in and of itself, regardless of the timing.
If Polanski posted it himself, then either:
He didn't notice the wording and image on the t shirt, and had he done so he wouldn't have posted it, so say should say so as soon as possible and apologise. Still a lack of attention to detail, which does him no credit, however.
Or
He did know what the t shirt says and needs to explain himself. If he did, and posted it deliberately, then an apology is fairly hypocritical. The electorate needs an explanation as to what his thoughts process was in posting it.
There is another possibility...
An account manager/PR Officer/intern manages his Socials and posted it. If so, Polanski needs to say so, take personal responsibility, and apologise. And probably sack the individual in question if in a professional position, or take the car keys off them if they are relatively young and inexperienced.
I am curious as to why you felt the need to say "simple yes or no will suffice" when, as I have outlined, there are a number of routes that could have led to that image being posted.

What I'd actually love to see is him come out and address all of this in exactly this way. Totally own his 'unprofessionalism' in this and lay wide open the need for all sides to engage in more honest politicking. I can see Burnham's Labour, the Lib Dems and possibly even the Tories getting quite on board with that. Could be a really good positive move all round.
