| Chuba Akpom appreciation thread 18:01 - Oct 10 with 3168 views | GlasgowBlue | Most fans expected him to either be loaned out or not make the matchday squad. Scored against Man U and Arsenal, but most importantly he has been a great foil for Flemming when coming on in the later stages. Puts himself about and wins a lot of free kicks in the opposition half. Impressed against everton as well. [Post edited 10 Oct 18:24]

| Chuba Akpom appreciation thread on 18:45 - Oct 10 with 2763 views | BelsteadCav | When he won that foul at the end he absolutely loved it. Shouting right in front of me in the north. It really does look like he’s lost weight. Looks a completely different player | |

He did really well … but that free kick he won at the end should definitely have gone the other way, Not that I’m complaining mind.

| Chuba Akpom appreciation thread on 19:52 - Oct 10 with 2547 views | Suffolktractor | O’Neil seems to have given him a new lease of life. Full of confidence, determination and power. What a nightmare to play against. | | | |
| Chuba Akpom appreciation thread on 20:00 - Oct 10 with 2500 views | balcombeblue | You need 25 players absolutely on it when required and he showed that brilliantly today. He looks more than capable of doing what we needed today. Should out for Walton too. Another who would be easy to write off but he’s the Lazarus of Ipswich! | | | |
| Chuba Akpom appreciation thread on 20:33 - Oct 10 with 2393 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Yep I thought it was silly to keep him around as even 3rd choice this year. He has completely proved me wrong and im happy he has. Thought he was excellent when he came on. | |

Egeli looks like a new lease of life too. Both have clearly stepped up in physicality and confidence since joining. Had cynical doubts about some of our cross pitch ball pinging last season against 10 men defences but seemed to completely upend Fulham in the last 5 minutes today
| Chuba Akpom appreciation thread on 07:59 - Oct 11 with 1921 views | Blue_Heath | One of the people I go with doesn't rate him at all. I said he's actually been a good impact sub. That free kick and roar to the crowd was brilliant. | |

| Chuba Akpom appreciation thread on 09:46 - Oct 11 with 1730 views | Nutkins_Return | There was a lot of noise when we signed him perm for £7mil because if the obligation and that we need to get rid and a big waste of money. I said at the time that £7 mil was absolutely fine. Look what you have to spend on strikers these days. No issue spending that on Chuba. It's the very low end of what he is worth. He's gone and out the hard graft in this summer, scored goals and impacted games already this season. Fair play. | |

| Chuba Akpom appreciation thread on 10:02 - Oct 11 with 1688 views | franz_tyson | Never had a problem him being third choice striker or 10. I'd worry if he was starting. I'm happy with Emmerson and Flemming. Let's not kid ourselves, we're lower PL / newly promoted, I think we did well to get them.Hard working and good attitude. Emmerson missed a sitter, but so did Fulham. If he puts himself about, Chuba will do as a good squad player. | | | |

| Chuba Akpom appreciation thread on 19:11 - Oct 11 with 1273 views | RedX | Strange to see how he’s currently performing. He looked a bit lost under McKenne, even a bit timid. Now he seems highly motivated, aggressive and focussed. Good to see. | | | |

To be fair to both he and McKenna. Akpom is being asked to do a very different job now.

If Akpom doesnt effect any other game tbis season. That’s worth the £7m for the 3 points

Not expecting him to replicate Chappers has probably helped him. We’re letting him play to his strengths now.

| Chuba Akpom appreciation thread on 20:39 - Oct 11 with 1050 views | SWLondonBlue93 | Fair play to him, maybe he feels he has a point to prove, either way he has really stepped up. I struggle to understand what we were trying to do with the number ten position last season. | | | |

My seat neighbour told me he and Egeli worked like hell over the summer to get fitter and stronger. I think you can see that. I had Chuba down as a ‘loan him out’, but he’s proving me wrong. Well done him.

It shows. Chuba not chubby. Possibly might get ahead of Flemming in the pecking order. Egeli looks less boy-man and more man now. Stronger.
