Haha, not quite so good when you're losing most of the time is it? What were they expecting, challenging for the title?

In some ways I prefer The Championship it’s more competitive for one.

Maybe it’s because I’ve had some blinding days out in the lower leagues.

I find The Premiership a bit boring tbh.

Depends what is meant by better.

More enjoyable - definitely a case for it. More competitive and less dictated by money - absolutely.

Of course you always want to go up and stay up. But the championship for me is the most entertaining. I find myself watching more championship games then prem still now (other than Town). Way less predictable.

Also the Sat/Tues/Sat nature of it is enjoyable. Frustratingly less games at the minute but obviously that will be sorted with Europe next season 😂

I do prefer the Championship. The PL is set up for the elite teams who play in Europe. We don't play enough games because the elite teams need more space in the calendar to play in the champions league.
So we play 8 less league games... but then there are also games we have little chance of winning. Arsenal away we'll probably easily get beat 1 or 2 nil and then we'll kid ourselves we were really competitive.
I truly don't care about the sneery, elitist fan who hates on the Championships lack of quality and spùnks over the PL. We're in the PL, but we're not at the top table with the big teams. We're just fodder. I really miss the 46 games and Saturday / Tuesday routine.

Winning at the top end of the championship is better than losing week in week out at the bottom end of the premiereague as I recall from our last outing in the top flight.

But from what you say , what’s the point of winning every week if you go up !

Been my argument for ages. I hope never have to see us play another Championship match in what's left of my lifetime. And I'll happily take a few tonkings along the way with it.

Yep, was going to say similar. Once upon a time it was a really exciting league, but it's a bit of a slog now!

So many games last season were not fun at all, as teams tried to just shut the game down.

I'm torn. I think the championship is more fun, feel like we can beat any team and always have hope, even when drifting downwards under Evans.

But I of course want us at the highest level and ask Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford (why always Bs?) If they have enjoyed the PL recently and I think you get a resounding yes.

I don't watch Norwich for entertainment. I just want them to lose.

I'm bored with this Man U thing already. That's after the Man C drama.

Championship is better. More competition. More real football.

The Championship is more accessible. I don’t give a monkeys whether we’re successful or not, as the main draw for me is reconnecting with a bit of my past and I value games I can get to more than watching on TV. I’d watch us if we were in the National League, so yeah I can see an argument for the EFL being better. And for those who only care about winning, it must suit them more too.

Even if I was a ST holder I’d be more interested in entertaining football than getting humped in the PL. Obviously the pinnacle would be playing entertaining football against the best in the PL.

Half the joy of it though. You get lots of different styles but the competition is always there. You have to earn every point and it's relentless. I honestly love it.

But I'm not choosing to go back. I only ever want us to be the best we can be. If we end up back there at some point I'll be gutted in the moment but then I'll just get right onboard with the upcoming rollercoaster!

The worst thing about the championship is when you find yourself slowly sliding towards oblivion like we were though. It's a brutal league for sides on then decline and underfunded.

It's easy to say you enjoy the Championship when you are winning most of the time and fighting at the top end. I certainly didn't enjoy it much for a lot of the ME era. Fans of teams like Stoke, Charlton, Preston etc would give anything to be where we are now.

I've loved this season so far. We are watching players pull on an ITFC shirt that we could have only dreamt of a decade ago and we look really competitive. We went to Man City and even though we lost (as expected) we made it a game. In 2024/25 "fodder" may have been an accurate description but I disagree completely this time around.

I was not into the PL last time as it was not really game was it and we mostly got rolled over.

This time we seem to be able to match up against most teams, it is fairly enjoyable but I prefer the lower leagues for an away day / day out.

There is more skill on show in the Premier League and the best games are clearly there. However, I have been surprised at how poor some teams have been defensively this season. That didn't seem to be the case 2 years ago or even from what I saw of it last season. There have been some really dire games in the Championship this season I have seen already though.

The big thing about the Championship (aside from teams struggling in the Premier League can succeed in it and we all enjoy seeing our team do well), is that most of those teams battling relegation will still have hopes of being in the Premier League the following season until the last 6 matches of the season thanks to the new play-off system and how competitive most of the league is.

I think Coventry fans are where we were 2 years ago. I can remember then thinking - oh we've got to wait a whole week before we play again.... :-( - And thinking the PL is boring because of that.

Obviously the quality is much higher in the PL and there's less annoying teams here who feign injuries and time waste right from the kick-off, so pro's and cons of both divisions!

Think there’s probably a difference if you go to games vs only watch on TV. There is something I prefer about the Championship for sure as a match going supporter, the football obviously isn’t as high quality but it’s more pure. More games, greater availability of tickets if a mate decides they fancy it late notice. A couple of friends support Charlton, they can decide on the day of the game if they fancy going, can even buy a ticket on the gate (how old fashioned). £25 for an adult, wouldn’t say it’s dirt cheap but low enough where it’s still accessible. Kids and students etc much cheaper.

A mate suggested a spontaneous visit to Fulham last season as we were both in the area, cheapest ticket was £75 I think. If you want to sit on a side stand it was £120. Games gone.

Of course the dichotomy at that level is if you want to win the league, then you get promoted. If you don’t want the prize then what’s the point? Personally I’m happy for us to have our seat at the top table and like that we’re ’on the map’. I can see why others would prefer being out of that PL circus though.

I thought last time we were in the PL in would be great to have a B team in non league like in Spain.

Taking a full allocation to Tamworth would be a solid day out for me.
