| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 09:25 - Nov 1 with 1623 views | StokieBlue | How many goals do you expect a striker at our level to score? It translates to 8 goals over the season which given it's his first season would be a decent return. Players like Thiago and Havertz also have 2 goals from a similar amount of games. Others like Brobbery and Barry only have 3. I think he played pretty well yesterday, he generally offers more than Fleming in my view. I would stick with him at the moment as the long term ceiling looks like it could be very decent and we are spreading the goals around the team fairly well at the moment. Obviously might be rotation but I don't think that equates to the same as "dropping". SB [Post edited 1 Nov 9:26]

| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 09:26 - Nov 1 with 1604 views | Blue_Heath | His centre forward play is good but his finishing less so, had he scored a great chance he had 2-0 we'd have won, instead that moment shifted momentum to Hull who went up the other end and scored. Maybe time for Flemming to start? | |

| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 09:41 - Nov 1 with 1486 views | SaleAway | I thought he was actually good yesterday. Caused their CBs plenty of problems, won a lot of first headers. Our front man should never be judged purely on his goals tally. I'd quite like to see how he'd have done if he was fresh when Maeda and Clark came on, as felt they created so much more space in the middle by playing that bit wider and further forward than Fatawu and Philogene had. | |

Agree his all round play is very good just his finishing let's him down at times. However, a striker should be judged on goals scored just as defence should be judged on clean sheets.

| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 09:58 - Nov 1 with 1387 views | Ruby | He's our best forward, playing fairly well, not exactly missing lots of chances, and we're scoring a decent amount of goals as a team - he's contributing towards that. I wouldn't mind if someone else starts against the right opposition but I don't think he needs dropping. | | | |
| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 10:00 - Nov 1 with 1369 views | Guthrum | Which of the other two is notably better? For the record, I think all three have done their jobs quite well. None of them are massively prolific goalscorers (plus we don't play in a style which is dedicated to feeding a single front-man). His other work - pressing, holding up, defending - has been good. It's not like getting goals are our biggest issue, after all. Only four teams in the division have scored more than us (ManC, Brighton, Chelsea and Brentford, all in the top six). | |

| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 10:12 - Nov 1 with 1307 views | _CliveBaker_ | Not sure we could’ve asked for or expected much more of him to be fair, he’s made a good start to premier league life. He’s raw, but he was always going to be at this age and level of experience. Don’t disagree there could be some rotation, but not necessarily a reflection on Emersonn and more a tactical change. I think Emersonn off the bench when the game is a bit more stretched would suit him, as it does Clarke. | | | |

| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 10:44 - Nov 1 with 1185 views | Garv | He's done okay, wouldn't be too critical. He battles well and does get openings and shots off. But yes. It's very surprising that Flemming hasn't been given even one start yet. I agreed with O'Neil when he said Emmy should have done better with the chance on his left foot yesterday. | |

I do wonder if it would be better to start Fleming with Emersonn scaring a tired defence later in the game? We’ve scored loads of goals this season so not concerned. I think we all know it’s about the defence and conceding far too many right now.

Flemming worries me a bit as in the game time given, he has not been able to influence the game much. When subbed on he looks fired up with good intentions, but it does not seen to really lead anywhere. There might be a good reason that O'Neill has not started him yet. Thankfully the break coming up will give Emersonn some downtime otherwise he might become fatigued and be more vulnerable to muscle injuries

| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 11:34 - Nov 1 with 999 views | SomethingBlue | Think he's doing really well in general play, we are getting plenty of chances to score elsewhere so keep him in. If we're struggling in January then I could certainly see us shuffling things up at No9, maybe saying thanks to Chuba and bringing in another that way, but currently not too many alarm bells from Emersonn in particular. | |

| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 11:44 - Nov 1 with 964 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Stat watching. The amount of times a fairly rogue long ball is sent up the pitch that Emersonn traps, holds up and then distributes to another town player is so valuable. When he does the get the ball in space he is a very good dribbler as well, had the one yesterday when he rolled Mendy and then was shoved down probably not a pen) but still top play. Yep he is still inconsistent in front of goal, but we are a pretty damn good attacking team and he is a big part of that. He is only going to get better. I wouldn't be dropping him. | |

Reminds me of when we signed Piggott. Scored goals the season before but looks far far off what we need uptop. I dont see a lone striker there. Maybe one for a duo of strikers but not a lone runner

| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 12:14 - Nov 1 with 849 views | ITFCson | An average of 2 in 9 across a season would yield 9 goals in a season. 9 may sound a low number for a striker, but for a team that will be in the lower reaches it really would not be a that bad return. | | | |
| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 13:05 - Nov 1 with 703 views | BlueMoon | His hold-up play and strength has helped others to get goals. If we weren’t scoring full-stop then perhaps it’s a different story. That being said Fleming did get 11 goals for a struggling Burnley last season so no sense in wasting that. | | | |
| Emersonn - time to drop him? on 14:42 - Nov 1 with 501 views | WolfieAtTheBack | Emmerson is a player to develop not to be relying on this season or starting every game. If he went to say Brighton he would be farmed out off the bat, no way would he get near the first team for a while. Really hope we can sign an experienced #9 in January to assist in operation we are staying up. Not hearing too much noise about Flemming, for me and from seeing the good, the bad and the damn right ugly with Ipswich over the decades I don't rate him and his CV leans more towards championship player who had one OK season in the PL and scored a few in a very poor side. With Flemming he was played as a 10 for some of his career then last season as a 9 he scored a few and the time before he scored double figure goals he played in 4-4-2 kind of shape for Millwall. He has never played above a level of getting relegated with Burnley. Note sure what we are going to do with him but if he wants to be a 9 he is going to have to get stuck in and make it happen. I don't think we have seen enough of Flemming yet to make such a firm judgment. It can only come if he gets a series of starts really. I would probably be more comfortable though if, in January, our striking options were Emersonn, Flemming and decent new arrival. No slight on Chuba, just evolution. | |
