Think we need a thread for this annual event of brilliance.
Ones to watch out for: - Lithuania with the most entertaining dance act you’ll see and a catchy song. - Finland & Italy both doing heavy metal/rock entries. The latter are favs. - France and the Swiss with two beautiful ballads. Both not in English but are very nice. - Germany with the worst entry I’ve ever seen at Eurovision. - UK have no chance..
I didn't pay much attention watching the other night - but got to say the Lithuanian entry was just about the most "Eurovision" song ever. Brilliant stuff.

You having a EV party Rommers?
Not really a party but I do have a couple of mates from uni over for the night and my brother will be here too. We’ve a drinking game planned involving two large bottles of tequila depending on things that happen in each song.

Have fun. And if you know why Australia get to enter, I'd love to know.

I’m going by vague memory here but I believe they were given an invite for the 60th year anniversary. And the viewership in Australia was so unexpectedly high that it was a bit of a moneymaker (advertising etc in the land down under) and became beneficial to both parties having them continuing entering acts whilst its popular over there. Hence five years later and they’re still involved.
Once the nostalgia wears off (them not making it through to the final this year will start that), they’ll soon stop being part of it I have no doubt. That might not be for another few years yet though.
I am doing a thread on a group I belong to! I also did one earlier of the All Time Top 50 Eurovision songs, and there were plenty of the good old ones in there but my favourite of all time only got to about 25 (Teach-In).
From the few clips of songs I have seen this year so far, the Italian entry will be getting my vote!

It's the sort of thing I usually avoid without too much thought.
But I should think a cheesy evening watching it with the right company and enough to drink, there's a fair bit of potential there.
I like music but this is an OTP version of B-rated songs that you wouldn't want to hear a second tme. I get that it's outrageous and camp and not to be taken seriously because everyone I know who watches it takes the p*ss out of the costumes and the rubbish songs. They think it's the best 'shout at the TV' comedy show going. Not for me.
Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

As usual after two songs i'm thinking WTF am I watching this for?

Right, just switched it on as had Star Trek on and I've only seen that around 5 times.
What have I been missing?
Edit: At the moment there's something going on that seems determined to sort viewers from those who may experience medical problems with flashing images and those who won't.
