So, what was going on in the background 17:48 - Dec 5 with 3925 viewsNorthLondonBlue2

…that Cook had to deal with? We know his father passed recently, which must have been tough to deal with. But what was Norwood hunting at? Dressing room unrest? Overbearing interference from Ashton/the owners? Players still not settling in?

Anyone got the scoop?

I can only assume that the Norwood situation was down to the owners not wanting him (,No Wood) to be at the club, and not necessarily Cook wanting the same thing.

Had heard a player, or 3, had gone to MA about Norwoods unprofessionalism. But PC wanted him in the squad still…

Be interesting to see if whoever the caretaker is puts Norwood in the squad Tuesday.

Think Andy Rolls role here is bigger than most people realise with regards to declaring players as available for the manager to select

Really? I mean...we'll find out soon enough. If Norwood and Kenlock come back into the fold then we know that isn't the case. Jackson appeared from nowhere recently...so not sure your assumption is accurate.

Norwood won’t because it’s from the top that he isn’t available - ie Ashton

I don’t think Kenlock is out in the cold for any other reason than being 26th man in a 25 man squad

Why would Ashton say Norwood can't play? Seems a bit pointless?

Suppose when you have the quality and depth we have you can take the moral high ground and sideline those that have caused off the field issues.

Was thinking this, but could relate to Ashton wanting to be able to move him in January.

If he plays and gets injured, which certainly isn’t beyond the realms of possibility given his record, he becomes a tough player to shift out.

Or, worse, what he needs right now rather than medical reality. For too long we've had players getting re-injured and missing further time.

A player telling the manager his hamstring feels fine is 100% better than a medical person saying it isn't.

From what I hear about MA could well be possible Norwood gets reintroduced.

(if he plays ball)

MA won't want to be seen to be blocking our most productive striker when the goals have dried up. Especially with the big Christmas promotion coming up.

much better to wheel him out as a virtual back from the dead signing and make it look like Cook's ego blocked him.

We'll see, but I wouldnt rule it out.

As very general rule, people who think they know better than people paid to know about these things don't tend to do particularly well.

Sometimes, things 'feeling' better aren't the same as actually BEING better.

There are certain things a medical professional cannot possibly diagnose as ok or not and need the opinion of the patient.

I don't know about anyone else on here, but I've played when a hamstring injury now seemed fine only to discover that in the heat of the game it soon told me otherwise.

I think it’s right that the owners are able to decide if someone has let the club down by their off field antics and are therefore not to represent the club. That is not the managers call. He let himself, his family and the club down, and it wasn’t just a one thing. I’m glad they had some input!
