There can't really be any doubt that we've bought badly - the squad is an incoherent, lop-sided mess - some of them still ought to be decent players though in a well-organised team hopefully!

When you do this sort of squad overhaul on an unprecedented scale some will turn out duds from a team and half of players. The biggest issue is we seem to have kept adding players because we could, not because we should.

You can sign 11 really good individuals but that doesn’t mean they’ll make a good team. That’s how I see the summer signings, individually they appear good signings but as a collective they look terrible.

A lot of people at the start of the season how great this squad is.

The odd game we've seen it but most weeks, not that great. Some players have been massively over rated unfortunately.

I am of the mindset that this is down to application, coaching and confidence now.

Average players for this level don’t win 4-0 and 4-1 at Pompey and Wycombe respectively. It’s evident from all the goals we’ve scored, some of the the football we’ve played and and some of the away wins that the ability is clearly there.

Morsy looked miles too good for this level in several of his early games. He’s now anonymous. The captain. Wonder how much that filters through.

This is much deeper than that and so frustrating.

Well at least this scotches the idea that if we don't do it now with this squad, we'll have lost our golden opportunity of the last xx years, and won't get anything like as decent a chance again for another xx years.
