We obviously didn't want him or we'd have blown Burnley out of the water lol.
I'm kidding!
Good move for him. Fee probably about right. Our chances were always very slim because of the potential for a move like this, if we were ever weighing him up.

TBH I'm quite pleased to see him move early in the window. I thought it would just be our luck that he would play against us on 13th August, score a couple, then move before the deadline.
Guess the flip side is they'll have some cash to reinvest now. Perhaps a move on 12th August would've been ideal :)

I’d be surprised if we seriously approached MK about Twine to be honest.
There were always going to be Championship clubs, at least, in for him and the reported fee of £4 million is, I would guess, more than we would ever pay for one player whilst stuck in League 1.
Add to that the fact he would want to play at a higher level and MK would be desperate not to sell to a promotion rival and it was always going to be a non starter.
Really can’t believe how many people thought otherwise.

Think they've known he'll be off and been re-investing the expected transfer fee from how active they've been so far.

I'd imagine he'd be towards the top of our list in the first place and we'd have then decided he's going to cost at least £3m or whatever and that rules us out, or we could be prepared to make a statement signing, at which point we have to sell the guy the dream.
Knowing he has had two years in League One, outstanding in both, and will have Championship suitors, we'd have then known there's little to no chance of convincing him to stay here a further year and potentially be great again for a team that could miss out on promotion.
So I think both the fee and chances of success would have been unlikely for us, but can't imagine that he wasn't high up our list of players on the basis it's not impossible we'd have got him. We have 0% chance of signing Sterling. He isn't on that list. Twine was probably assessed at 10-20% chance but it's not as if we haven't gone for players like Walton, Morsy and Celina who must have been assessed at less than 50%.
