Tho the contact was actually with the swinging leg, not the standing one, in other words the respective limbs of both players moved to the point of impact. He (inadvertantly) whacked his shin into the boot of the Wigan player as much as the latter slid into his leg. |  |

The only follow through was by Aarons, the defender clears the ball and Aarons swings his leg and makes contact with the studs, not the other way around so it’s a “no penalty” from me |  |

What is the defender supposed to do? He got to the ball about half an hour before Ullathorne had his air-swing. Ullathorne's responsibility not to deliberately smash his shin into the defender's studs in my view.
NB: I know he's probably not called Ullathorne, but I can't be arsed to look up who he is, and they're all either Ullathornes or Gunns as far as I'm concerned. Unless they're Gavin Holt, who was fatter than both of them combined. |  |

There is a big difference between going over the top of the ball and catching the standing leg and what has actually happened here. The nodge player has kicked his shin into the tackler's studs. |  |
