From their forum: “It was a mess You can't change the team and formation every single week and just hope it works There is no pattern to our play and the players don't know what they are supposed to be doing because of all the changes every bastard week I'm afraid that's on McCarthy the bloke is clueless and shouldn't be anywhere near our club Tactically we are all over the show and I still don't know what we were trying to do When the third went in I walked around to the dug out from the South to tell McCarthy what I thought of him, he wouldn't turn round but I knew he could hear me as I could see his head twitching. He wouldn't look at me, at least Holloway gave it back when he went through his clueless stage The fat steward warned that I would be thrown out if I continued, I told him it was fine as I was leaving at half time anyway”

Mick and Terry gone on 10:40 - Apr 8 with 2734 views | Churchman | They were in a mess before Mick and Terry turned up I suppose it was a reasonable short term gamble to employ them at the time. Given how it all went down the pan at Cardiff, I wonder if the game has moved on a bit and left M&T way of playing behind? Probably harsh on my part as if Blackpool are short of decent players you are pretty hamstrung. Mind you, looking at there forum, I doubt MM will be betting many Christmas cards from Blackpool’s supporters. [Post edited 8 Apr 2023 10:43]

Proof, if ever it was it was needed, that although they've managed at similar levels for a similar amount of time, Colin is absolutely head and shoulders above MM. If we'd had gone for him over Lambert we would have stayed up imo but we may now still be stuck with Evans and no long term plan if that did happen.

They were praying for a ‘bounce’ which warnock has given to Huddersfield

Absolutely, they don't appreciate his tactical nouse. Lulling the teams around them into a false sense of security before trying to actually win games.

Colin was always another level to Mick; you can tell from his post match analysis alone If we’ve hired him instead of Mick in the first place we may have got out of the Championship and not disenfranchised so many Town fans with the style of football we had to endure But then again we’d have maybe had more years of Evans?!

Indeed a blessing in disguise. I think we’ve actually got more than we could have dreamt of, given Gamechanger’s level of thoroughgoing care, competence and investment.

Unfortunately, unlike most other out-of-work managers who could do TV punditry, Mick is crap at that as well as he has such a boring monotonic voice. I think he will have to drop to Lg2 or National League level like Cookie did as that is Mick’s level I’m afraid.

How do we know TCs style isn't very last century as well? He's done great out of Mick financially too. I wouldn't feel too sorry for him!

Warnock wasn’t available when Lambert arrived, he was still in the Prem with Cardiff.

This has been true for at least seven years.

Mick and Terry gone on 11:39 - Apr 8 with 2155 views | JackNorthStand | This isn’t a reflection on MM to be fair. Blackpool were as good as down when he came in, he’s failed to turn them around and they know he won’t stay to manage them in league 1 so they’ve got rid now to get a manager in for next season.

Watching Wycombe yesterday reminded me of how we used to play in the Championship. A complete reset was required. And relegation was part of that reset.

They should get Neil Critchley back, apparently he’s a top class coach and was loved by the players there before he jumped ship. Can’t see him saving them this season but think he would be a great appointment to try and get them back up.

Sounds similar to what I was told by a Blackpool fan. There was a crisis meeting set up midweek between five senior players and some fan representatives. It was brokered by club senior leadership to fend off a larger scale fan protest. With Mick excluded. It ended up just being the players and fans airing concerns the coaching methods, tactics and management style. It’s 2023, it was bad enough we put up with that sh!t in 2016/17/18. It would be wrong to suggest Mick didn’t have great relationships with his players at Town (unlike Cardiff and Blackpool) many commented on how positive that was. But coaching and technical set-up… draconian at best.
