Serves him absolutely right for taking the piss by comfortably catching the ball then falling dramatically on the floor, several times.

Agree, he has been taking 20 to 30 seconds holding the ball every time, how is that allowed?

With all the talk of ball in play I'm surprised it hasn't been looked at. I hate it when Walton does it, he's asking for a yellow card.

That’s nothing out of the ordinary really. Walton loves a bit of a time wasting when he needs to. All keepers do.

Peterborough’s main problem is they can’t get close to the energy and determination of Wednesday. They could still nick it of course, but this has been so one sided (although at last Peterborough realise they’re in a match).

The difference in goalkeeping ability between Norris and Walton is light and day. Glad we’ve got Walton in our nets.

His decision making is absolutely abysmal. His habit of charging out of his goal when he was with us has somehow got even worse.

Agreed. He was terrible. I'm surprised Peterborough are doing so well with him in goal!

He's got some redeeming qualities but his decision making is so so poor. Him and Bailey Peacock-Farrell are the two keepers I can't understand how they were bought by Premier League clubs, even as backups.

It's so funny how keepers suddenly lose the ability to stay on their feet in the last 10 minutes of games, thought Norris looked absolutely awful to be honest, really shaky under the high ball, didn't look likely to save a penalty, one or two good saves but that is the minimum you'd expect. Amazed Peterborough took him after his performance for us against them !

Maybe after that game they assumed he was a Posh fan and would raise his game for them? He's utterly hopeless, looks capable of gifting a goal from the most innocuous ball into the box through his poor decision making and inability to command his area. He got caught flapping more than once, it led directly to the second goal.

Made a couple of great saves. He’s a very good shot stopper but as TDS said, an awful decision maker. Costs his teams goals all the time.

They all do it.

He made some good saves, but other than that was dreadful in terms of decision making and orgnising his defence.

Should have saved at least one of the Weds penalties. Saw it coming and then dived out of the way of it.

He made one good save that I'd expect most top half League 1 keepers to make, then a few routine saves that any professional keeper should make. His inability to cope with balls into the box was something else though, gave them a goal and could have led to another. No wonder the Peterborough defence looked panicky with him behind them.

Did his best to give Wednesday a goal in the first leg as well by constantly rushing out then not even getting close to the ball before a defender had to get him out of jail with a last ditch block or clearance.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Every keeper is a good shot stopper, it's all the other stuff like decision making and command of the area, positioning, and organisation that make the great ones

Thought it was interesting that the ref clearly told it him at one point in extra time that he'd be adding the time on it at the end.

Strikes me as a peculiar interpretation of the laws of the game? If his dawdling reached the level of deliberate time wasting, then he should get a booking. If it doesn't reach that level then it's an ordinary stoppage of play and shouldn't result in any additional time being added.

I always think refs are afraid to show a yellow in case they then need to show a red. It's daft but no ref wants to send someone off for timewasting and get (wrongly) criticised but can you imagine the backlash for sending someone off for that in a play off game?

Truly impaired.

I didn't think additional time could be added on in that circumstance as the ball is in play. If the ref had an issue with how long the keeper held onto the ball then surely he should have given a foul and a card as per the rule and not added his own rule of adding additional injury time.

a niche perspective

Aside from Norris.
Dom Awful went down with cramp , I think that was the time added for, but defending for the 4th by clearing the ball from the penalty spot , low straight up the pitch to a Wednesday player really deserves to stay in league 1!

Agree, he is really poor at dealing with crosses or any high ball coming into the box.

It looks to me like he lacks bravery and is scared of getting hurt, which you absolutely can't have as a goalkeeper.

The sensible route when you're that sh!t at coming off your line is to stay where you are and let your defence deal with it or at least give yourself a chance of responding to any chance that results. Instead he comes for the ball like he's a prime Luigi Buffon and ends up flapping like an out of form Dean Gerken. Hopeless.

Honestly, with regards to time-wasting I think the laws of the game, spirit of the game and actual refereeing practises are such a mess.
