Glassers curveball 17:52 - Dec 1 with 2840 views | GlasgowBlue | If and when Morsy gets suspended. Bring in Clarke at right back, Williams at left back and Leif Davis in Morsy's role. Discuss.

If we could choose I would lose Sam for Watford and Norwich then have him back for Leicester and Leeds.

It needs to be somebody who is comfortable on the ball but also is able to put a bit of stick about. Don't think Taylor has the latter.

I personally can't see it being anyone other than Ball. He appears to be consumate professional and it would be a major kick in the gonads to be replaced by one of our defenders - that doesn't seem very McKenna like. An addition to the CM department in January wouldn't surprise me either - someone more in the Morsy role.

Think Taylor-Luongo would be more likely. Moot point though, like last season, Morsy's going to avoid getting to 10.

Glassers curveball on 18:44 - Dec 1 with 1840 views | Dubtractor | That's one of the worst suggestions I've ever seen on here Glassers. Serious reply - We'd go Luongo in the Morsy role, and Taylor in the usual Luongo role. [Post edited 1 Dec 2023 18:51]

No chance. He’s got 18 games to get through, there’s no way he won’t pick up 2 more yellows

Last season he picked up just 1 yellow between Matchday 22 and Matchday 41.

That was largely in games where we were on the front foot though - a number of his bookings this season have been those cynical fouls to stop teams breaking on us, which happens a LOT more in this division.

First half of last season he racked up plenty of yellow cards too though. When he needed to, he stopped. (People also started assuming he'd definitely get another suspension last season, to the point where they planning which he should try to miss from like January onwards, didn't turn out to be necessary) [Post edited 1 Dec 2023 19:11]

I think the opposition is much too good this season for Morsy to survive that long. My worry is him avoiding 15 yellows, would hate to lose the man for the run-in.

Irrespective of opposition quality I think Morsy's good enough and experienced enough to know when he should and shouldn't put his foot in. The fact that he's accumulated 20 yellows for us over the past two seasons without ever managing to get two in one game tells you he can control it when he wants to. Morsy will know that missing 2 or even 5 games will hurt us and he'll do what he can to stop that happening.

Ha! I like your optimism but I can’t see it. Livermore will get a yellow out of him at Watford for a start [Post edited 1 Dec 2023 19:53]

I'd be amazed to see Ball start for us this season in the league to be honest, think he's looked a little way off it when he's played. A good pro and very versatile but not on the level of some of our other CMs. As others have said, think if Morsy is missing then Luongo drops a bit deeper and Taylor comes in.

Glassers curveball on 19:43 - Dec 1 with 1641 views | BigCommon | Taylor slots in if either Morsy or Mass are missing... I'd like to see another MF come in, in the window.. Not sure I'd put one of the best LWB's in the division out of position. When he's doing so well at LWB. I'm sure Leif could play there, as hes just a good footballer. And he was kind of trialled there in pre season.. But thats gotta scramble Taylors head, not to mention a few of the squad's heads too..
