I wouldn't say we're above Stansfield- he'll be a Premier League player one day. It's just bad timing because he wouldn't get in our XI at the moment and in Al-Hamadi, we already have our young 'project' striker. |  |

To be fair, while it may be bad timing, it is not as if he has been an unwitting pawn in this situation - didn't he make it pretty clear he was keen to stay at Birmingham in January, and we moved on as a result?
I tend to agree that he has bags of potential - I thought he was the only player that escaped from that Exeter game with merit - but it always felt like he preferred to be a big fish in a small pond, and that will be terminal for his development. | | | |

I’m not really sure about that. We clearly target players who we feel we can improve and develop with us going through the leagues, and whilst I totally appreciate the Prem is a different ball game, our interest in him these past 2-3 windows would’ve meant we felt he could make the step up.
If he was available for the right price I’d take a look at him again. Clearly a very highly rated player. |  |
