Just a gut feeling, but seems like it's a deal all 3 parties desperately want/need to do so it'll happen with some financial compromise in the deal found around the issue picked up in the medical.

Broja deal not dead yet on 18:20 - Aug 26 with 6556 views | SenatorBlue | On the medical side of things, what’s the situation? From what I’ve read on here it’s the past ACL, but is it a case he’s currently fit, but there’s a % risk of reoccurrence, so we’re looking not to commit £30m without some safeguards, should that occur? | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Broja deal not dead yet on 18:21 - Aug 26 with 6525 views | RegencyBlue | Been wondering about this deal. Despite the rumours there’s been nothing official from either club, which I would have expected had the deal died completely. We obviously want him but given something has been found at the medical I’m guessing we are trying to renegotiate around the obligation to buy, which is completely understandable.

That’s what multiple sources have been saying. It would also seem to fit the way things went. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until the medical, then …………..

Achilles injuries can take a long while to sort as we have seen with Harry Clarke, and in some cases will never fully heal. I would hope that the club moves on from this deal and looks elsewhere if that is the problem he has.

The 3 Chelsea fans I know - I know never trust the other fans - have all said the same. If you get the Broja from before the injury we'll have a great player. But all felt he's lost a bit of speed since the Achilles injury. On the flip side they made the point he hasn't played regularly since that injury, the Fulham loan was a disaster. Hence if we can play him regularly we may get him back to the pre injury. Although as I've said on other chats, they're amazed they would get anyway near £30m for him, they seemed happy if they got £15m

Ouch. I fully trust our new set up, but maybe time to look elsewhere do we think? Hope we ain't desperate with the window closing soon.

Translation via Google: "the chances have changed to 50/50 again, without showing the reason for what is holding him hostage 😃 According to our knowledge, Broja with 70% signs tomorrow in Ipswich. Only something unexpected in the analysis stops it, it is believed that the problem is small.."

I trust the club to do the right thing but I would much prefer we bring someone in who is fully fit and can hit the ground running.

To be fair I think a small problem has prevented us all from finishing something

I'm not sure that I trust Google Translate. I tend to think Trequartista does a better job on the old Albanese.

Correct, I thought I put ACL, think it autocorrected it to Achilles for some reason (probablymy fat fingers), and I didn't check it. Interesting I was just reading a story where Broja admits the injury changed him mentally, but feels he has gone beyond that now. I guess it's only natural to be cautious after such an injury and especially going into tackles.

From what I gather, the issue with the medical relates to his achilles.

Is the club aware and interested in how leaky it has become again? We seemed to have that under control but currently the ITFC ship is like Swiss cheese. There were more unconnected ITK's on this issue last week than I've known on here for a while - all getting shot down because the reports were that the medical had already been 'passed', yet the details they posted that have since turned out to be more accurate must have come from the club. I'd imagine Ashton is furious. [Post edited 26 Aug 2024 22:37]
