I didn't realise the bottom 6 were all playing each other this weekend!
Town vs Leicester
Southampton vs Everton
Wolves vs Palace
Clearly we need to take care of our own business, but outside of that who do we want to win? While we want to keep as many teams below us as possible, longer term it would probably be better to have more teams within touching distance. Wins for Everton and Palace could see us start to be cut adrift, although a draw between Wolves and Palace wouldn't be the end of the world.

4 points distributed across those sides rather than 6 at this stage is preferable IMO.
EDIT: That said I don't see Everton as genuine relegation candidates (not sure I really see Palace going down either tbh). Last season adjusting for the points deduction Everton would've been well safe and closer to mid table. I think it's 3 from 4 or 5, so wouldn't mind at all if the Toffee's beat Southampton. We simply HAVE to beat Leicester but will likely be a 1-1 draw. Wolves v Palace I'd want a draw. I think Everton won't be near bottom 6 by end of season so would prefer them to keep Southampton bottom especially as their performances seems to have improved of late. [Post edited 1 Nov 2024 9:34]

Everton to beat Saints. Wolves/Palace draw or Palace win. We absolutely have to beat Leicester to pull them back and do ourselves some good at the same time.
Really don't want us going into another international break with a zero in the second column.
The period between late Nov and March is where we really need to hit the ground running. |  |

At the moment I can't focus on much more than a Town win.
I don't like the the term "must win", but the inescapable reality is that we have to start picking up some additional points soon.
Play like we did against Everton and we're in for a tough season standing on the trap door.
Play like we did against Brentford and we've got every chance of getting that first win and carry that forward, every chance of staying up.
At the start of the season we hoped there would be three worse teams than us.

Wolves and Soton losing is what we want. Don't think Palace or Everton will be anywhere near the bottom so i think a win is largely irrelevant. |  |

Doesnt matter one iota. Southampton are doomed, so probably are Leicester,,. Which just leaves one place to fight for - and how the dross performs between here and season’s end will depend on how they do over many months, not in mythical mustn’t lose games

It goes without saying but everybody else is irrelevant if we don't start winning our own games. In a hypothetical situation I'd rather they all drew. We don't want anybody gaining maximum points ideally. |  |

Best not to think about the other games and just treat whatever happens as a bonus if it's good for Town as you'll just end with more negative feelings if Town lose and the "results don't go our way".
