You can't expect to fix 14 years of mess without some pain.

It's impossible by definition within our economic system.

Stop making stuff up and claiming it as fact. Political debate is good, just being a budget Internet troll pumping out tory soundbites is bullsh1t.

The interest rate came down only 6 days ago ffs.

Interest rates have been cut twice since Labour came into power, and once since the budget. The impact on inflation is still a prediction that the budget may increase inflation by up to 0.5% in the mid-term. Let's see what happens. Plus it's small beer compared to the changes we've been through over the last 2 years.

On the flip side, you may get some public services that work.

Playing on words I am afraid cos most working people will have mortgages and be affected by increased inflation

Businesses will have to increase prices or lay off staff due to the increase in NI so unemployment will increase I am sure.

Absolutely.

The Tories set the bar very low in their years of government. Surely you should give Labour a fair chance to sort things out?

The Tories lowered NI by 2p as a risk free bribe. It either helped them stay in power or helped screw over the next government. What is your opinion of cutting that when we need money for everything from the military to the NHS to funding local councils?

Dubs has already fact checked this and said interest ratea have come down.

So why post stuff thats not true to start with?

The increase in national insurance may be passed on by companies in terms of increasing goods cost. But whats the alternative? A cut to public services and the country didnt like the austerity cuts previously and frankly our services seem to be on their knees.

So there's little choice.

Most mortgage lenders have put their mortgage rates up by .5% this week regardless of the reduction in base rate

This is because they have to plan for the future and do not see further reductions in base rate

You are so naive.

Let’s revisit this in 6 months time and see where the country is?

The public services won’t improve because more people will be using those services particularly the NHS which is still seeing the devastating effects of COVID ie, Cancer rates going through the roof due to late diagnosis etc

"Most mortgage lenders..."

Are they Labour controlled Mortgage lenders?

You, yourself has said revisit in six months, so what was the point of your OP?

Even the Gov. of the Bank of England has stated that rates will drop.

Mortgages, you say? Hands up if you know which idiot spooked the markets leading to the largest jump in mortgage rates in years (probably decades actually).

£300 a month that added to my repayments. Since then rates have been falling, have fallen recently and are expected to continue falling.

I suggest you read up from some reputable sources about what is actually happening and then come back and try again. Unless you're just trolling, which is highly likely as most people wouldn't be this confident about being so ill-informed.

The only thing you're close on is that the employer NI contributions will likely have an impact on some businesses, but the BoE thiks that's going to have at most a 0.5% impact on inflation.

Some fixed rates are up, some are down. All trackers are down. The base rate cuts recently are factored into fixed rate deals that were set 2-3 months ago, as they were predicted (as you say, the lenders look ahead).

Yes, let's revisit later.

What is the point in working hard all your life to obtain a decent standard of living.

All I wanted to do was work hard so we can make sure the kids are ok and the Labour goverment decide now even pensions are include in inheritance tax.

So everything I have worked hard for the government will take 40% of it back when I die when I have already paid tax on it

If the NHS is in such a bad state why didnt they put a penny or 2 on income tax and state this money is specifically for that purpose. They didn’t do it because they don’t want any Labour voters being affected by their Budget.

Everyone wants a decent NHS as we will all end up using it

Basically Labour demand all the people that don’t vote for them carry the majority of the Burden of the Country

This budget will destroy any growth for the Country even the OBR have down rated Labour growth predictions.

They have hit Employers hard which will mean eventually employees suffer which mean people will stop spending money and any growth will be impossible

To be fair, most major lenders have put up fixed rate mortgages this week.

Average up by 0.25%, only marginal increases, but goes against the drop in base rate. This will have been influenced by an increase in swap rates, due to future predictions for interest rates.

Shorter term fixeds of 1-2 years, yes. It's undoubtedly had an impact, but it's nowhere near as big an impact as the OP makes out is probably my main point. And it completely ignores the reasons behind the budget (to try and fix a lot of stuff that's been trashed over the last 14 years).

You lost, and in 5 years time you'll probably lose again, you can blame May, Johnson, Truss and Sunnak for moving the electorate toward labour and effectively writing Labour a blank cheque to do what ever is needed for the next four years.
