Things that you look back on and think ‘wtf was that’ 00:00 - Mar 7 with 8073 views | The_Romford_Blue | Just had something come up reminding me of the weekly ‘clap for the NHS’. Wtaf was that about. The gesture originally was well intended but I wonder how patronising they felt it was. All the while we all had one group of neighbours who were judgmental about who was or was not clapping.

Things that you look back on and think ‘wtf was that’ on 00:09 - Mar 7 with 4986 views | MattinLondon | As you say it was well intended and at the time it felt important as it brought people together at a difficult time. But looking back - people showing their gratitude by banging pots and pans together does seem odd now.

Oh yeah don’t get me wrong me and my uni mates were all doing it. It felt like an event. You knew 8pm on a Thursday, it was time to get the clap. And then we’d obviously applaud too. It’s just hindsight that really does make it bloody weird

Things that you look back on and think ‘wtf was that’ on 01:20 - Mar 7 with 4878 views | Illinoisblue | It was a strange time. Had to drive six miles into a different county with my youth football team to practice as the county we were based in wouldn’t alllow any gatherings. And played our home games 20 miles away. Outside with masks on. TW not TD.

The most bizarre "Covid - wtf were we thinking" story I tell, was when an outdoor cafe wouldn't serve me a coffee...as they only had access to bottled water - which they had quarantined and wouldn't touch for 48 hours, in case it was infected. I did point out that it would be boiled but apparently the risk was just too high...hence it was cold drinks only available that day. And the cafe that made me take off my cycling gloves to santitise, before I put the gloves back on and handed over my payment.

Things that you look back on and think ‘wtf was that’ on 08:11 - Mar 7 with 4454 views | blueasfook | We used to have someone play music in our neighbourhood. We didn't do things by half. We made a proper occasion of it. Lockdown seems like a surreal dream now. Crazy times for sure.

Yep, we had an old girl over the road…. on 08:12 - Mar 7 with 4433 views | Bloots | ….who would stand outside banging her wok with a wooden spoon every week. She stopped sending us and our next door neighbours a Christmas card after neither of us bothered. She’s dead now. (not Covid related)

….brilliant. Working from home every day, lie ins, working in just your pants. The weather was amazing, bbq and beers in the garden every Friday night with your mates. Not having to mix with the general public. TWTD.

The weirdest thing was I was away in the canary islands just before lockdown started. When we got back, needed to do a big shop to stock up, but the shops had been looted! There was nothing to buy! Tesco looked like a Russian shop just before the collapse of the Soviet Union!

The weather was amazing…trying to home school my eldest was less amazing. I was reading an account of someone’s experience of lockdown. Think he was in his late twenties and had an average paid office job. He stated that he loved lockdown as he saved a lot of money, wfh and got healthier. But he mentioned that he doesn’t state this often as a lot of people struggled through it. Was an interesting read.
Things that you look back on and think ‘wtf was that’ on 08:34 - Mar 7 with 4158 views | Reuser_is_God | When you look back at that time it was all a bit “wtf” really. I remember queuing up outside the supermarket all around the car park about 2m away from the nearest person, only to get inside & it was an absolute free for all. Could only have a pint in the pub if you bought a sausage roll with it. Pathetic.

My neighbour asked to come and join in and was a bit out out when I said I wouldn’t do it. He didn’t really understand that I’d rather they be paid than applauded. The house between us, had a woman in it who was hospitalised twice and nearly died of Covid. Then kept breaking lockdown and having three generations around constantly as if it was normal. I don’t miss lockdown at all I have to say. Wasn’t a good time at all.
