If not injured, suggests either he's off of KMc has left him out because he's been getting the dogs abuse from 'fans'. Hopefully its the former and Azon is done/close.

I am surprised he's on the bench and not Akpom who I thought was a bit further along on the match fitness side.

Seriously. We’ve got a rb who’s spent his whole career in the PL. The league’s standout CB from 2 seasons ago. Probably the league’s best LB with the most goal contributions over the last 3 years in the EFL. Sunderland’s POTS. The league top scorer by some distance 2 yrs ago. And two other highly rated attackers.

If we can’t do well with these players we may as well give up.

Jens knows the patterns and the triggers. Playing up front for us is a very complex role so Chubs might need more training time before his chance.

We don’t have a recognised #9 beyond Hirst, that’s my worry. It’s not so much the individual talent on the bench, but the shape of it.

Big day for Hirst, hopefully he can run himself into the ground with no midweek game.

Charles is a good player as well. Going to be very interesting but have to say when you see the Saints 20 laid out like that you realise how much quality they’ve got. Shame we’re not playing them in a months time but hey ho.

True but as a counterpoint I think I'd rather have his skill over Ayinde who might know the patterns.

At a guess he's just not at all fit.
