It looks like ITFC will miss out on any transfer targets this summer. Meaning a possible half-season without a full striking force upfront and a weak midfield. Compared to the last few seasons, where Luongo and Morsy did a great job.
What do people think? Will KMcK get his targets? I am hoping so, as I want us to be the best. However, a rough start to the season has dented my optimism. |  |

The panic about having a bad window is still premature. We've already got 4 players in and we're still heavily linked with others for all the gaps that exist in our line-up. It's obviously possible to miss out on all our targets, but there is zero reason to believe that will likely be the case.
I'm pretty confident that Matusiwa-Cajuste will come better than Morsy-Luongo in time. Plus we're looking for an extra player still by all accounts. Up front, we're still waiting on a new striker to support Hirst, but we do have Chuba who can do a role there (or as a 10).
Also a rough start? Unbeaten in the League, despite playing 2 of the strongest teams. 6 points and the routine cup win would have been nice, but absolutely nothing to cry about with our league start. |  | | |

Everyone panicking yet we have Cajuste who played a full PL season last year and Matasiwa who has played several years in the French top flight
On paper that's a better starting two than Morsy and Luongo who both did a great job, who was our backup to those two previously?
People are panicking about the backup and I would agree we could do with one more but what is all the panic for exactly
As for not getting our targets, it's again a bit misleading, we are shopping in a more competitive market now, we are being ambitious and won't get every single one that is documented, agents are a bit more ruthless the higher you go up
Every player we have signed so far is trade up on signings on previous years at this level
The biggest fear I would have is our squad strength comparative to the the Birminghams in this league who are really going for it |  |

You say 'a rough start to the season', but so far we've managed draws with Birmingham (expected to be at least top six, away at St Andrews) and Southampton (expected to be top three).
It's not a brilliant or outstanding start, indicative that we will be walking the division, but neither is it particularly bad, given the opposition. We don't need to beat all our direct rivals, just keep them in check while getting points elsewhere.
Compare us to Stoke, currently top, who've faced Derby and SheffW, two of the teams most predicted to struggle this season. Is that an amazing start? |  |

I'm not really considering the League Cup:
It doesn't affect our chances of promotion
We don't play the normal first team
We have a poor record going back many years
In reality, it's a break in rhythm very early in the season, far more likely a hiccup than a boost.
Edit: If we're performing poorly and still getting draws, than that's actually pretty promising. Especially as we did begin putting things together from half-time on Sunday and sounded (from the radio) pretty dominant. [Post edited 20 Aug 10:44]

Not clickbait. I just lost the desire to post while Evans took us to L1. Very happy with McK and MA, how things have gone. I believe they've been sensible and wise in investing where they have. Not a lot to moan about.

We are mostly struggling to squad turnover and clearly haven’t gelled yet. Southampton second half showed improvement in that regard. I do wish the window was aligned with the season starting though - not ideal bedding in new players after several games, and you don’t want to be adrift. Last time in the Champ we were already a settled squad and carried our momentum over.
We are only struggling with some signings because they are ambitious (eg Hackney and Miley). Equally, the club would be criticised if we had no ambition and signing mediocre journeymen. | | | |

I believe we are having problems with recruitment because we are trying to bring in players that are going to be able to use next season (hopefully in the PL). Such as Cajuste.
It is not easy to get such players to agree to a year in the Champs.
