Jackson 21:45 - Jan 26 with 3262 views | EdwardF | Why? Irrespective of his deserved sending off today, what value does he add? Where does he add value? His speed - Oh yes, his speed. he can run very fast

Jackson on 21:49 - Jan 26 with 2903 views | Garv | Along with Nolan, Toto, Donacien, Harrison, arguably Edwards too, he should never have been signed for a Championship side.

Jackson on 21:49 - Jan 26 with 2877 views | BlueBadger | Playing off the shoulder and with a suitable partner he's demonstrated that he's a considerable threat both in terms of scoring and creating goals. The trouble is, in the current set up, he's pointless because it doesn't play to his strengths in any way. [Post edited 26 Jan 2021 21:56]

100% correct | |

The fact that we've only offloaded two of those, one in the last week, is depressing and another reason we are where we are.

Playing in a 2 with Norwood. He can’t play the lone striker. Not his fault but can’t believe that the manager is so stubborn on this formation

I would imagine Lambert will come out against Jackson in a big way tonight. Need to pin the whole thing on him for self-preservation.

Funny that isn't it. Lambert's managed to take the one strength from last year and destroy it.

Jackson on 22:06 - Jan 26 with 2667 views | Churchman | Nothing. But he has a few games off now. Brilliant outcome for him.
Jackson on 22:09 - Jan 26 with 2625 views | Romeo4 | Played in the right system he could be a decent threat at this level. He’s a victim of Lambert’s unwillingness to bend from his ineffective formation. That said, it was a terrible challenge tonight.

Yes, but he doesn't fit into Lambert's preferred 4-3-3 so why keep a player for whom other clubs offered £1m+? He's started 7 games this season & scored 1 goal so his value will have collapsed. More great squad management from Town. [Post edited 27 Jan 2021 9:52]

Jackson on 22:11 - Jan 26 with 2608 views | Bugs | He's a half decent striker at this level and will score a good few goals in a season if he stays fit, as he proved last season. But that's with the caveat that he must have a strike partner. [Post edited 26 Jan 2021 22:12]

Well to be honest he deserves everything that’s coming. Not saying it affected the result because we can’t score with 11 on the pitch, but it removed what little chance we had of scoring

Jackson on 22:19 - Jan 26 with 2552 views | floridaboy | Should never put the shirt on again. Sunderland were poor, with 11 we actually might have got something out of that game. The guy is a complete waste of wages!!

Let's face it players like Jackson highlight just how far we have fallen as a club. Very little quality in our squad

The key person we need to offload is Lambert.

Jackson on 09:53 - Jan 27 with 2087 views | clive_baker | I liked his tweet about costing us 3 points. Highly unlikely I would say, given our lone striker couldn't trap a bag of cement. The only difference it made was giving us an excuse to lose 1-0. I have some sympathy with Jackson, he showed in a poor side last season that he's capable of scoring and creating. He's the sort of player that would move on and show what he's about, but to injured / frozen out, then thrown in out wide, then not even on the bench, then starting as a lone striker is a mess. It's not conducive to playing as a coherent unit and getting the best out of someone. As we've all been saying on here, we should've gone with a front 2 months ago and given Jackson one of those positions.

THIS, THIS AND THIS!! He is an absolutely awful footballer. The fact he is towards the top of the pecking order totally affirms why we are where we are. The only striker we have that is remotely acceptable at this level is Norwood and that is saying something. Perhaps along with Sears (on a good day)... We are a basket case. Wake up & smell the coffee. We are in Division 3 & going to be subject to a salary cap. This is why most of the players at this level aren't much better.

Jackson on 12:39 - Jan 27 with 1926 views | Jermynblue | When a player leaves us some do better and some do worse. With Jackson a different manager will get more out of him playing to his strengths and therefore when he does leave I would expect him to do well with another League 1 team and would also not be surprised if he was recruited by a Championship team. It is very easy to forget the goals and assists he got last season often when he was not always playing as part of a front two. The quality of strikers in League 1 are generally quite poor.

This. We signed a mid-table League One side when you add Holy, Wilson and Norwood to that mix. Guess where we ended up.... The only players on our books who have ever gotten out of this league through promotion are all in their 30's are Chambers, Skuse, Judge and Ward... You are what you eat, or in this case, the sh1t you sign for cheap.
