There is a theory that an abrasive manager with a revolving door recruitment policy might make things worse

You could make arguments for all of those teams but equally each have their weaknesses. No reason why we can’t finish above all of that lot. COYB!

I doubt Wycombe will be back up anytime soon.
Decent chance Appleton gets poached by West Brom
Portsmouth are in the same boat as us (complete rebuild)
Wilder won’t go to Sunderland

No guarantee we’ll be top 6 but we’ll be contenders

If either of those teams were half decent then they wouldn’t be in L1 next season.

Rotherham - no divine right to be competitive, you don't yo-yo forever and financially we could take any player they want pretty easily
Sheff Wed - financial problems
Pompey - didn't make top 6 this year, don't have much money, losing their better players
Wycombe - more likely to be in the relegation mix imo, no money, ageing players, no reason to assume they'll be anywhere near the top
Blackpool/Lincoln - one chance this season, whoever loses will be stripped for parts
Sunderland - have always had more money than everyone else in the division, still rubbish
Oxford - really? why?
Charlton - again, smaller budget than us, didn't make the play-offs this year
MK Dons - pardon? why?

He hasn't even mentioned Doncaster, Bolton or Gillingham either. Christ, I can't see anything other than 24th place here. This listing of clubs who are at the same level as we are has totally ruined any optimism I have.

Calm down, calm down. Take a chill pill and relax. Deep breath, everything will be alright. We have the best manager in the league and potentially the strongest squad. We will be top 6 at worst. Put some whale music o.

Truth be told as well , apart from both Lincoln and Blackpool, there isn’t a club with a full squad as we speak making it entirely impossible to predict

Wycombe and Oxford cannot be ‘in the mix’ if you have already locked out the Top 8 with your other random guesses.

See you in August.

I'm actually quite excited.

As long as we do indeed sign the right players. League 1 looks a cracker to be involved in.

Some good points there
Feeling slightly better.
Now worried though will we score enough goals?

If we start with Drinan up front. Bennetts on the wing and bishop as a 10. No we wont score goals

I doubt we will see that though :)

You are definitely right.

Rotherham are giants in this league and all that Premier league parachute money will see them walk it.

Sunderland are certainties like they have been for all of the past 3 seasons.

Sheffield Wednesday, Wycombe, Blackpool and Oxford have the rest of the top 6 sewn up. Although somehow Charlton will also be top 6 and Oxford will be up there too.

We may as well pack up and go home now.

Either that or we should forget about the reputation of 8-10 League 1 clubs and simply make sure we are better than them all.
