This job is a perfect fit for Lampard 23:13 - Dec 5 with 4597 viewsgalacticoblue

Money available for him, he needs to restore his own credibility, town owners like the publicity…… I personally think it’s a good fit.

No.

High spender, much like his Uncle ‘Ary, spends the money with no consideration for the long term effects.

Would be on ludicrous wages at this level as well.

How many managers have dropped from that level to a league 1 equivalent club then as their next move.

He didn’t even want the Norwich job in the Premier League.

He won’t be coming to League 1.

When Tuchel was approached about the Chelsea job he said to Abramovic “Are you sure you want to sack Lampard?” - I think that more or less sorted his credibility on its own!

I’d love us to get Lamps, but I just can’t see it. We’re a mid table league one team.

We so shouldn’t be a mid table league team though. It should be an easy tick on the cv re: promotion.

But a long, long way back for him if it didn't happen.

And the reason for turning away from the Norwich job was….??? Must be due to no guarantee of transfer fees etc. something our owners can be guarantee.

How many times do international players have to fail before people realise managing is not just about being a top ex player? It really isn’t an automatic passport to success.

I heard Chris Waddle talking about this a few years back. He said most top ex-players struggle managing in the lower leagues because they cannot understand why the players cannot perform week in week out the way they did. They try and instil something in players that just isn’t there. If it was they wouldn’t be in the ham and egg league.

Lampard’s managerial record is worse than madman Keane’s and nobody is calling for the return of the swivel eyed one. Is it because Lampard comes across as a smart bloke with a smart ex-tv wife? It can’t be because of his managerial record which it’s mediocre if one is kind.

My view is that it’d be a really poor fit that would not benefit him or us. There’s no way he would plumb the depths of this league anyway.

I really don't get this obsession with 442 from some our fans. Is there a successful team in the 21st century that plays 442 by default?

I wouldn't want Lampard anyway but you need to sort your levels of delusion out if you think hes a realistic prospect.

If he didn't take the Norwich job he certainly won't take this job. I can't believe anyone thinks this is even remotely plausible.

Might as well ask Liverpool if we can speak to Klopp.

What has Lampard really done to be desireable? He had a bad run at Chelsea, and an ok spell at best with Mel Morris' Circus Production.

He still hasn't cut his teeth as a football manager, along with John Terry and Wayne Rooney.

The thing that REALLY winds me up though are the people who have stated Keiron Dyer isn't ready for ITFC, but somehow think Lampard is - how does this qualify as rational?

Well Lampard has managed 2 clubs, 1 of those in the Champions league. Whereas Dyer has managed 0.

I wouldn't be too keen for Lampard but come on, he's clearly got more experience than Dyer.

Bit of a stretch that one comparing tbe two, Klopp who has won the Bundesliga with Dortmund, Premier League and Champions League as opposed to Lampard who treaded water with Derby and was out of his depth at Chelsea.

But if Lampard does have real aspirations to be a succesful manager then tbe platform here would be ideal for him, money to spend, club at its lowest ebb, not that far from London, but i suspect he has ambition to manage a PL club, could be a long wait for him.

He got Derby into the play offs after years of them bottling it at the end of the season.

He took Chelsea into the champions league in his first season after they failed to qualify the season before, and an FA Cup final.

He also brought academy players like Mason Mount into the first team.

Yes he was sacked after a poor run of results. But it was a seven game run, so Chelsea were less patient the than our owners were with Cook. Prior to that run they were top of the Premier League in Demeter.

I think he’s out if our league but he’s certainly desirable.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

I wasn't really comparing their ability, more our chance of getting either. Which is 0%.

He's massively out of our league. His last job was Chelsea for crying out loud. Maybe we should ask Mourinho too?
