No, doesn't seem like it, does it? I think he'll move on either later this month or in the summer. Not heard of any specific interest yet though.

Don't suppose we had a "sale or return" caveat in the deal with Wimbledon then...

I'm sure they would be happy with that with him having left for free.

It does appear that someone will be leaving this week, with Simpson being recalled. Going to be an interesting few days. We don't seem to be in a great position for strikers next year at present, with Jackson & Norwood out of contract & Bonne only here on loan. Pigott is the only forward under contract for next season, unless you count Chaplin. Also agree hasn't really worked out for Pigott, and there is probably a good value to be had on selling in January.

But with Bonne unlikely to be here next season (unless we are promoted) it would be premature to get rid of Piggott now - when he is under contract and clearly has the ability to step into Bonne's shoes.

There is a potential issue in the summer re strikers. Norwood out of contract, Bonne perhaps going back to QPR, although I wouldn't rule out him staying here in League One, and Pigott so far having shown very little.

There is, but was outlining the overall situation that there is some instability among the striking department as it stands. I assume Town would take it up whatever to get a fee for him if he doesn't stay beyond the summer.

Wouldn't surprise me if we were looking to send Simpson out to a League One club. Not sure he'd have much involvement here.

Agree. He has proven he can score in L2, so not much value in staying with Swindon, if we can get him out on loan in L1. Unless, he is a makeweight in another deal we are pursuing?

While Jackson should be moved on, the recall of Simpson implies that he is coming back to play the role of 3rd striker, with a few cameos from the bench. Not good for his development, but maybe McKenna wants to assess him properly.

Next stage in his development. Would surprise me if we'd let him move on at this point at his age after his impressive spell in League Two.

Everyone seems to reporting how happy he Norwood is here Phil, seems at odds with the many tribulations he's had since joining? [Post edited 23 Jan 2022 21:11]

Was it Rashford that KM was given credit for developing? Did he have any loan spells or slowly just get into the fold at utd?

Rashford would already have been in the first team when KMc joined Man U, but would have worked with him in his last couple of years, of course. He didn't have any loans. Incidentally, the Accrington scorer yesterday, Ethan Hamilton, chatted to KMc for a bit after the game just before he spoke to us having played for him in Man U's academy. KMc said he knew we were behind as soon as he hit the goal and knew where the late free-kick was going.
