What an embarrassment.

If anyone, (though why would they?) is in any doubt this man is thick as sh1t then there's no hope left.

Please feck off you buffoon [Johnson], you've humiliated us for long enough.

I thought prime minister's speeches were written by other people. Obviously not because this is the work of someone thick as pig s**t.

Johnson is not the only thick one in the Conservative Party and he seems to revel in surrounding himself with those like him.

Unfortunately I doubt Johnson is the only person to see nothing wrong in what he said.

"Fundraising is a legitimate part of our democratic process and it is not unusual for the Prime Minister, or any political leader, to attend such an event."

No it isn't. It is illegitimate and subverts our democracy. Private capitalists and foreign governments are paying money to get something in return. It is clientelism, which is a form of corruption.

“Private capital tends to become concentrated in few hands, partly because of competition among the capitalists, and partly because technological development and the increasing division of labour encourage the formation of larger units of production at the expense of smaller ones. The result of these developments is an oligarchy of private capital the enormous power of which cannot be effectively checked even by a democratically organized political society. This is true since the members of legislative bodies are selected by political parties, largely financed or otherwise influenced by private capitalists who, for all practical purposes, separate the electorate from the legislature. The consequence is that the representatives of the people do not in fact sufficiently protect the interests of the underprivileged sections of the population. Moreover, under existing conditions, private capitalists inevitably control, directly or indirectly, the main sources of information (press, radio, education). It is thus extremely difficult, and indeed in most cases quite impossible, for the individual citizen to come to objective conclusions and to make intelligent use of his political rights.” - Einstein

Still going on. Still ignored every election. Still a huge issue. Time we wake up and realise that there are fundamental issues in the way we structure our "democracy". From first past to post to people buying political influence ("donations").

If even Hate-Spewer thinks he’s gone to far, he’s really misread the room:

I saw this and couldn’t believe he actually said it. That comparison couldn’t be more inappropriate and wrong. Did he bother to read it before he burbled it out? Had he had a nip or two too many before shambling to the lectern?

The very sight of that corrupt, arrogant fraud and his mob sickens me. Why doesn’t he and they just go?

I noticed one creature from Stoke or somewhere was asked about an election next year. Oh no, was the oink, two years as there’s lots of levelling up to do (I paraphrase). Yeah, right.

Just when you think he couldn’t sink any loser. It’s disgusting and it’s insulting. It’s also counterproductive when we have been working closely with our European partners in opposing Putin.

Starmer has been 100% behind the government in its response to the invasion of Ukraine, so it’s also a kick in the bollocoks for Starmer to say that Kabiurbwoukd raise the white flag to a Putin.

The trouble is that he isn’t thick at all but knows exactly how to appeal to those hardened Brexit types. Wrap an Union flag around his speech, use the word freedom instead of blatant xenophobia and he has a room full of applause. Not just in that room but probably in the kitchens of those who read the Sun, the Express and the Mail.

A bit like Putin, the PM didn’t just arrive at that moment but it has been building up since the referendum. His backers have turned the other check and closed their eyes to every single episode of this governments incompetence.

Yes, I think this is all very calculated, and part of the start of a two year (or shorter) election campaign.

The U.K. was also free prior to the EU vote.

Even the notion that that the Brexit vote was some form of freedom is fairly insulting to lots of people not living in free societies.

Triply so when you factor in that most of the main speakers wouldn't be up on the stage if it was't for Putin....

It's not that he's not thick, it's just that he needs to be marginally LESS thick than 52% of people.

The Cult of Brexit is all he’s got. In Brexiteer’s own heads they’ve been at war with the EU for years, so I suppose this is the logical extension of that flawed and small-minded world view. He’s just tapping into what’s worked for him before, thinking he’ll get the Brexidiots rallying around him again. I very much doubt he actually believes anything he’s said.

Meanwhile, Sue Grey and the Met are taking their time… It’s about time we had the fully story about how they took us all for mugs and broke their own laws, followed swiftly by some some charges and a vote of no confidence.
