But he is standing up for the common man clearly (except when push comes to shove and there is any issue that actually directly affects them).
Plus, what are the proper ways that he refers to here? "We should welcome genuine refugees who come here in the proper way from war zones and are at risk of persecution." He contrasts them with coming via a safe country. So we should only take refugees from France, Ireland, Iceland or the Netherlands provided they are residents of those countries fleeing war?
