Beats me. I didnt see any contact, the ball was long gone anyway and as per the OP, he was offside. Still, what do I know.

Whilst the official was only looking at the contact, I can't belive VAR or even the lino didn't see the offside

Defender played the ball deliberately so he gets back onside (stupid rule).

Not offside as he didn’t touch the ball. Still dodgy as looked like he tripped himself - maybe slight brush of leg - I remember similar peno against town given where the ball had pretty much ran out of play and the attacker was miles away. Some one may recall who it was ?
Wasn't Kane offside? (n/t) on 22:25 - Jun 7 with 1980 views | Ftnfwest | I thought that, and also that it wasn’t a pen, although on replay he does boot Kane on the outside of his leg. Unlucky for them but we hung on on there in that game to be fair.

Definitely offside But how was the Hungary penalty a penalty baffling can't get right with VAR

Thought the German player knocked Kane's foot onto his other foot as he ran across him. Looked a penalty all day to me, assuming he wasn't offside.

Ruud van Nistelrooij at PR. Cross was miles over his head and had gone past him. He then had a tangle with a defender (Titus was it?) and did his usual dive. Penalty. Couldn’t fookin’ believe it.

Agree I think Kane's back leg was caught which knocked into his other leg and sent him over so I agreed with that part. But to me he was offside, as no way can the defender be classed as deliberately playing that looked like a deflection which is what made Benzema offside in CL final.

Wasn't that the nail in our season's coffin? I was in the Man U end for that and could barely contain myself. No, not through choice, it was the ticket I could get at short notice. Alone with a stinking bunch of the strangest people. And I mean they reeked, like Genghis Khan's hordes.

Dean Saunders was another that got a penalty that was never a penalty in a million years. I bet we could probably go all night and create a long list. Doubt we remember many we got though

It sure was. We needed to avoid defeat and that cheating Dutchman done us. I was livid. Can’t imagine having to see that whilst sat with the Manc fans!!

Thing is, Kane was goal side and the only way he could've been goal side is if he was offside. The whole move - Kane not onside once. Game's gone.

Wasn't Kane offside? (n/t) on 10:31 - Jun 8 with 1293 views | ITFC_Forever | Haven't seen it, but apparently a German player played the ball last. So it's irrelevant if Kane was offside at any point before that - the German playing the ball starts another phase of play, in which it doesn't matter where Kane is as he can't be offside when an opponent deliberately plays the ball. (and for reference, it's different to the CL Final as the Liverpool defender didn't deliberately play the ball, it hit him inadvertantly).
