If asked before the play offs I'd have said I'd be behind Barnsley to go up, but after their comeback against Posh, I actually think yeah they'd deserve to win now. Plus they did actually finish 3rd in the table and pushed hard for the top two. Just hope it's a good game with Wednesday winning 3-2 maybe!

I’m not so sure that sub-consciously that finishing third with not going up combined with the mental fatigue from semi final. It’ll go one way or another. They have a good start they’ll do it but start badly they’ll struggle. I can’t see this being predicted either way
Youth is on Barnsley’s side. They also trampled all over SW during the season. I can see them beating Wednesday with the way they play and I hope they do.

I do feel for the decent Wednesday fans, but sadly, their hooligans chucking stuff onto the pitch at their place to intimidate match officials, thereby successfully conning an extra point for themselves & cheating us out of two points, trumps other considerations for me.
Not to mention the arrogance of some on their forum (thought they were promoted in Feb.) & belligerence towards Moore.
I'm inclined to agree with you after SW's admirable fightback from a seemingly desperate situation. Also to stuff it in the face of those of their fans who were attacking Moore after the season he led them through.
Has made me more neutral than I was, despite emotionally more favouring Barnsley.

Sheffield Wednesday to lose and Moore to get offered a job in the Championship would be my preferred outcome.

Rather Barnsly from a selfish point of view We seem to be their bogey team and get more points from them-long may this continue in the Championship
I stuck a fiver on Barnsley to be league winners in February at 80/1. The most fun achieved for £5 ever…..had a £50 cash out at 1 point, when they went 3 points behind us with 2 in hand. Great fun watching the collapse of Sheff Wed and Barnsley…….

Wednesday for me too. Moore is one of few really good people in football. Him gettig promotion should silence the doubters at Wednesday. , As always it'll be tough for the losers and I have a soft spot for Barnsley.

Barnsley for me. Cant stand Owls fans with their Billy big bollox, and entitlement attitude. Their treatment of Moore for the majority of his time there also sickens me. Utter tossa ers and the fans don’t deserve anything ….but the swfc players however, do.
What Sheffield Wednesday did to overcome Peterborough was nothing short of a miracle, and they deserve to be in the final. However, that's where it ends in terms of what is deserved or not. Both S Weds and Barnsley are where they are on merit and are the two most deserving teams in the playoffs but when it comes down to it - Barnsley are my pick.
Regardless of what their fans have said about us, I still want Wednesday to go up based on 3 reasons. Firstly, the comeback was incredible against Peterborough in the Play Offs, they were dead and buried after that first leg. Secondly, to finish with a points total of 96, that would’ve won them the league title 9 times out of 10. Finally, Darren Moore always comes across as a decent fella. Sometimes it’s nice seeing the good guys win or in this case gain promotion.

I’d suggest Posh did their uttermost to help Weds. They got their tactics completely wrong and made the decision to sit back and try to defend a 4goal lead. They invited Weds onto them and hoped (expected?) to be able to defend it. Weds lacking in finesse simply piled balls into the Posh box. Got an early goal, then another, and the physiology changes for Posh, completely, a 4 goal lead suddenly becomes “just 2” (a much more achievable target for Weds). The Crowd are up and at it and all of a sudden it’s no longer defending a 4 goal leading, it’s defending for your lives.. adrenaline ( fear?) saps all energy in your legs as your on the back foot, and it’s almost impossible to change from the pre ordained tactic of sit back, sit tight, and defend. They couldn’t attack if they wanted too.
Posh did more to bring about their own downfall than it was Weds overturning it. I think Had Posh gone on the offensive from the first whistle , it would have been a completely different game.
We got more points off Barnsley so they helped our cause and i for one am grateful for that. I would hope they are rewarded for that with promotion. The Norwood playing for Barnsley you have to consider that he will most likely still be involved in some wattsapp groups with our boys, and being the the same division the banter this season will have ben unrivalled, especially when one considers the promotion race aspect. NExt season if Barnsley are promoted, this would be set to continue which will benefit both clubs and sets of fans. However i suppose if Barnsley are not promoted, there could be a lot of micky taking towards Norwood on these groups, which as long as it didn't cross a line, could also be productive for Moral, particularly Woolfy who has been there longest.. I would be unable to draw any such parallels with Wednesday as we dont have the same linkage of playing staff there??

I shall be rooting on for Barnsley today, particularly after swfc Fans treatment of their manager post the play off first leg and their comments about us all season
