How or why has this happened? Imagine getting sacked after winning the World Cup.

Its because he was perceived as supporting the rights of his boss to impose himself on women.

Has he voiced opinion regarding the "kissing" saga and it's been looked upon in a certain way ?

Well, given most of his team have refused to play for him and his man-management is up there with Roy's it's not that surprising.

Add in the the Spanish FA desperately trying to pin all the blame on two men, Rubiales will be out soon enough, rather than the whole organisation.

Did you see the way he grabbed her head, and have you seen her testimony since that she didn't consent and wasn't happy about it?

And can you imagine if that was your daughter, sister, mother?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

He didn't kiss the player.......

Maybe some people need to read a little tiny bit before commenting if they don't know the situation. I don't knoiw it fully but lots of players have refused to play.

Remarkable they won the world cup with some decent players not there (apparently....I don't follow Spanish womens football).

But he won the World Cup so from a purely sporting perspective who cares what people think about his man management skills?
I do take your point and am being slightly disingenuous, I know right who me?, but on the plain face of it this all seems unfair on the bloke. If an earlier poster is correct and he is perceived to be seeing as supporting the other bloke then that a very thin end of a very big wedge.
Maybe I’m just an ugly old tw@ who doesn’t understand the world anymore.

Not unfair at all. How can you lead a team of women if you don't stand firmly by their side on this?

Vilda has come out and said he was wrong to applaud Rubiales so, unless it's Rubiales making the decision, it's more likely his sacking is in relation to his long-standing issues with the team.

The whole thing is a mess and has overshadowed what should have been a great achievement.

Kind of bad that it takes a public event for the Spanish FA to deal with the issue as opposed to just believing their players to start with.

Maybe you can detail that, and let’s see if this woke stuff has gone too far.

To be fair, claims of inadequate facilities and poor training sessions seem to be unfounded in the light of the WC win.

That’s nonsense. Actually, I don’t think that was acceptable in the past either. Certainly not in the worlds I worked in. And inappropriate behaviour did happen now and again. Some of it was horrendous.

If somebody feels uncomfortable, 99 times out of 100 there is a reason for it and it’s not acceptable. Nobody should feel their space is being violated in any way (a polite way of putting it).

Sexual harassment, and that’s what it was, is up there with every other ‘ism’ in my book. He knew what he was doing and should know better. Heat of the moment? Nah, just another dirty barsteward taking advantage and forgetting where he was. Of course he should resign.

I still think its odd, he was part of that achievement.

They should have probably amicably parted ways on a high.
