I keep seeing the figure of around 90 million to spend this summer? If that's true I would see the lower end of that range as very doable, particularly if some of it is made up with add ons etc. |  | | |

I'm not personally comfortable signing him for anything more than £20m. He's achieved nothing in the PL yet, so should be valued at an elite Champ player which, for me, is £15m-£20m tops.
Maybe £15m up front with £10m worth of add-ons/clauses, but Chelsea clearly desperate for the cash and know there's an orderly queue forming. Just hope we either hold firm to get him slightly cheaper or the likes of Stuttgart pull out, leaving us as the main destination. | | | |

Zero chance that any of the linked clubs pay £25m+ for him. Good as he may be, he's barely kicked a ball above Championship level. Still think there's a deal to be done at under £20m up front with performance related add ons and a sell on. That feels more realistic. |  |

It's not very often that you can sign a player who already knows and suits your system, is in tune with the managers expectations and already knows all the players like brothers. He will continue to improve under Kieran. I'd rather sign him for £25m than some unknown quantity for £15m. | | | |

Would be surprised if he went for anywhere near that valuation. Possibly after add ons over a long contract. Suspect 15-18m gets it done. If Stuttgart are genuinely in for him they can offer Champions league football. For reference. We offer stability and must be in contention.
Agree with other comments in that Chelsea need to sell various players to balance books especially as they seem adamant on continuing to buy players at will. |  |

I think there's a big element of that there.
Chelsea know that Romano likes to run his mouth on Twitter, so if they feed him the line it'll be out there before they've even finished speaking to him. | |

Understandable that their opening gambit would be high, I don't doubt there's serious interest in him and they're going to test the market. Hopefully as time goes on if nothing materialises they might temper their expectations.

Whilst it would disgruntle some, I wouldn’t pay £25M/£30M.
As talented as he is though, it’s a huge amount of cash to be spending on him in my personal opinion.
Chelsea are obviously inflating price of his successful time here last year, but seems steep.
